A quick Bill Simmons take on LeBron..

  • hoops23
    from Bill Simmons:
I think we're realizing that LeBron was never made up of the same stuff as Kobe or MJ. And the things that we saw him doing in the future were things that we wanted for him, because of his transcendent skills. But in the end, he just didn't want those things. He was abandoned as a kid, if you see his high school documentary, you see all he wants to do is be a part of something, not be something. He just wants to be a part of a group and be wanted. We've just all along wished he was wired for greatness. He's not. And it's a shame.
    Hammer, meet nail.

    Simmons is spot on.

    If Kobe/MJ were 6'9 260lb.. god damn.

Simmons is probably my favorite sports writer. While loving the Celtics, he is pretty spot on with anything pertaining to the NBA.

Plashke joins Jason Whitlock in getting ti. Great article.

Great article by Plashke which is basically right on the money

    Nice article by Plashke!

Honestly, all these writers have been pretty spot on and "pro Cleveland". I am surprised. I thought everyone would just pile on us.

It's good to see it isn't just Clevelanders that think he did the wrong thing.

I am looking for the video/audio, but Joe Tait did an interview and said that Lebron never spoke to him once in 7 years....I am completely dumbfounded by this. If all the shit that is floating around there about this guy is true...he really is a POS. I am jaded and I knew that Lebron is a "me first kind of guy", but I never had any idea what he really was. It is just crazy.

That article by Plashke is brutal.

    Just brutal.

If James had a conscience (I don't think he does), it would tear his soul apart.

After reading that Gilbert learned of James' decision via that flying butt monkey circus on ESPN, I now absolve him completely for writing the scathing letter he did. James deserves every bad thing that is written and said about him; and he has brought it all on himself.

What Lebron did wasn't loyal. It wasn't handled very well either. But to say that Lebron leaving Cleveland was the "wrong thing" just doesn't sit well with me. He has every right to test the waters and win championships just like everybody else. Why do people think he owed it to Cleveland? I still think the press conference was not the right way of handling it, and I think he should have called Gilbert, but I'm not sure that moving to Miami, hanging with your boys, and being the best team in the East should be considered the "wrong thing". It's his life

^ When did she say that leaving was the wrong thing. Most everyone here is just upset about the way he did it.

She didn't. I guess I just figured it was the same thing most Cleveland fans have been saying all along.

That is exactly what most Cleveland fans have been saying all along. My entire family and the majority of my friends are Cleveland fans and we ALL agree that he didn't owe us anything but that the way he did it was fucked up. Not sure where you've been getting these Clevelander opinions you speak of but try talking to real people and real fans and most will agree with my sentiments.

If he wanted to test the free agent market then that is fine and he did but dragging this whole thing out and not even letting Gilbert or Grant know anything until they found out through other people right before he told world is a low blow to the guys who did anything he wanted and more. Why did he wait until all the other free agents were swallowed up or trades were made when he couldve told the Cavs weeks before that he was more then likely leaving or just not coming back at all so they could make plans on moving forward but nope he instead left them high and dry.

Agreed. Dragging it out until after everybody had already committed was a douche move.

Bingo! Lebron handcuffed that orgnization. The Joe Tait story really pisses me off.

The funny thing is how many Cleveland fans defended the guy until no end and completely changed tunes once he bailed.

We obviously only knew the LeBron who was in the public eye and LeBron the bball player...

We never imagined he was actually this low. I guarantee you people wouldn't be this mad if he didn't go on NATIONAL TV just to tear the hope out of the city.

You're a reasonable enough poster to understand that it was not the bailing but the how the bailing went down. I know you know the difference.

All the crazy stuff that has come out about him.....really has changed my opinion. There were a lot of people protecting his image while he was there...now they are all coming forward with stories of how shitty he really is.
