Reds @ Phillies - Game 2
-
wildcats20Well, last night was all my fault on the ending, sorry guys.
Tonight we have Leake going against Joe Blanton
No lineup yet, but I bet it's the same except Gomes in for Nix. -
jordo212000I'm glad Gomes got a breather, hopefully he can regain some of that early season magic
-
Mooney44CardsStandard lineup but with Heisey in CF.
John Fay says that more than likely Ramon will go on the DL. -
RotinajSo is Hanigan gonna be back after the AS break?
-
daveThat's the plan, along with Volquez.
-
Thread BomberWhat the hell are doin posting a Reds thread on the LeBron page ????
-
mhs95_06Do you think Stubbs is on the bench tonight because of his failed suicide squeeze bunt that was a DP? Dusty seemed pretty disappointed, and rightfully so, that those two runs didn't get in from 3rd with one out.
-
wildcats20Hope so.
That run would have won the game probably -
daveNo way, Dusty doesn't have the balls to do that, hasn't all year. Stubbs hasn't had a day off in awhile, Gomes and Bruce just did. It's his turn.
-
Azubuike24Ramon has been out a week, and would be able to comeback next week, so given the AS break, there is no reason not to DL him and fill this roster spot for the next 3 games. That extra spot is needed.
-
wildcats20Here we go....
Probably going to have a delay at some point tonight. -
mhs95_06OK Gomes, how will you do with runner on 3rd and one out and the double play in order?
-
justincredibleGOMES!
-
mhs95_06The runner on 3rd plus two more RBIs, staking Leake to a 3-0 lead.

I'd say he did pretty damn well!!! lol
THAT is why Gomes needs to be in the lineup EVERY night!!
And that's the 2nd error of the inning. -
mhs95_06Blanton has to get 5 outs! Still would have been 2 runs if there were no errors, depending what Votto would have done without that gaping hole in the infield due to the running of one of those runners reaching on an error.
-
mhs95_06Reds need to keep adding on runs in this game of bullpens that were used a lot last night. It looks like Leake may not do much better than the six runs he allowed last week against the Phillies. Good thing he picked off Rollins in that first inning!
-
justincredibleMike Leake continues to hit. Impressive kid.
-
justincredibleGomes with RBI #4.
-
mhs95_06Reds get one more in the 2nd when it looked like they were set up for a really big inning with Corky and Leake getting hits to lead off the inning. If there is one player who needs good rest relief it is Cabrera. He needs to have good legs with his demanding defensive position in the recent heat and humidity more relief for him is needed. Janish is better defensively and in his last appearance was 4/4 and a great offensive day, and that was 5 days ago, and it has been over two and a half weeks since Janish got to start a game. Janish has a better average than Cabrera too. I think Cabrera's talent, experience, and savvy has been very good for the Reds, but his contributionsper game I think would be so much more if he didn't play so many games. Dusty has been doing a good job keeping the catchers and Rolen fresh, why can't he do the same with Cabrera? He is tired and keeps on popping up!
-
mhs95_06Bruce gets a great hop off the wall on Howard's drive and guns him out at 2nd to hopefully take Philly out of a big inning.
-
mhs95_06I think this first base ump has called two runners out on pick-offs that most umps would have called safe!
-
mhs95_06Cairo in the same 1st and 3rd situation with one out that Gomes had in the first, and he knocks in both runners also, now a 6-1 Reds lead.
-
mhs95_06Thru five innings, Blanton 96 pitches, Leake 46 pitches!
-
mhs95_06Phillips is the fourth runner tonight tagged out on the bases!
