Fans burn LeBron Jerseys
-
-Society-This is sickening. All that he did for your city and this is the respect that he gets? I'm sure Miami will welcome and appreciate him more than Cleveland.

MulvaSickening? Seriously? It's an item of clothing, not a human being.
The fact that people are so shocked that a fucking JERSEY (that is no longer relevant or worth anything in Cleveland) is being disposed of amuses me. Why is burning it any different than tossing it into a dumpster? -
I Wear Pants"Oh my those monsters!!"
Seriously, what do you want people to do with their Lebron jerseys. (I guess people could give them to homeless but you could say that whenever anyone throws away anything)
Disclosure: The only Cavs item I own is a Mark Price t-shirt. -
krazie45I burnt mine....not like I'm ever going to wear it again
-
I Wear PantsReally?
-
majorsparkWell at least here in Cleveland the worst we can do is burn a few pieces of cloth in the streets when we lose a star player. Maybe we will never get the satisfaction of going ape shit in the streets and overturning cop cars, engaging in wanton riotous behavior, and destroying public and private property when one of our pro sports teams wins a championship.
-
Automatiklol@ at the people defending it. Cleveland.....so so sad.
-
Trueblue23Cleveland burns jerseys of their fallen hero, LA burns cars after a championship.
Why do we burn shit?! -
AutomatikDon't forget OSU. I was usually passed out when all that shit went down.
-
mucalum49From a friends site LandLoyalty.com (formerly LeBrownsTown.com till tonight) don't throw away/burn LBJ clothes as they are planning a clothing drive if you are in the NE Ohio area

after all he did for the city? hahahahahahahahahah -
ohiotiger33^^ The amount of economic growth he created in the city is unmeasurable. He could have left years ago, but stayed to try and win one in Cleveland. What does he owe Cleveland?
-
Curly JHell I didn't read all the posts, but if you burned a Jersey it's kind of child like.
Kinda lke burning your Pete Rose card when he went to the Phillies, except we paid 25 cents for a PACK of card and people spend the GNP of a small nation for a LeBron jersey.
Sorry I don't get it. especially when he becomes a coach/owner and if comes back home to Northern Ohio....will he not be wanted some 10-15 years from now and be forgiven? -

hahaha. Get over it. I saw 3 jerseys being burned. Big deal. I wacthed kids burn Jim Tressel bobbleheads and t-shirts after the USC loss last year and look what he has done for OSU and Columbus. This is what fans do. Gimme a break. I guess going on Natl TV the way he did isnt sickening? Deciding that he didnt owe Dan Gilbert a phone call or explanation isnt sickening? -
Thread BomberYou have to look at the mentality of someone that would purchase (then wear) a LeBron jersey.......

You must not be a fan of buckeye football -

If you haven't noticed...fans of the CAVS (and not just a player) disagree. Why do you give a shit what Dan Gilbert says? You are not a fan of his team or organization and it has no effect on you. -

Quoted for truth! -

So you think Gilbert released a professional and classy statement? I give a shit because it's news. Cavs fans want to rip Lebron, but how about Gilbert who made himself to look like an idiot? Someone else said it first, but how is what Lebron did any different than the way Gilbert treated Brown and Ferry? He fired Brown just hours before his contract kicked in. He knew immediately after the playoffs, why didn't he just announce it and let Brown move on? So much for those family values? -

Dan Gilbert said what the fans of his team would have said if they had the platform to do so. I agree with most of what he has said to this point.
Now the question is should he have said it? I can say that I don't have a problem with him coming out with this. He probably will have to come out and make a couple apologies and try to save face to some extent, but it is not as big of a deal as some are making it. If Lebron James, from Akron, OH doesn't sign a contract with the Cavs, do we really expect any other big time free agent to sign here in the future? What past events indicate that will happen? I don't think his comments are going to have any impact on free agents coming to Cleveland, because we weren't going to be able to sign any of the max guys anyway that these comments would offend. Cleveland will need to build the franchise through the draft and trades, not by doing what Miami just did. -

So according to you what Gilbert did was unprofessional and classless but what LeBron did was perfectly fine? Once again...maybe if you were a fan of an actual team and/or city you'd understand what last night felt like. I've already stated several times that I didn't think LeBron was being a drama queen throughout the process but last night was completely disgusting to me and most Cleveland fans. Am I mad he left? No, not really. Disappointed? Yes. But my life as a Cavs fan will go on. What I AM mad about is his choice to go on national TV and do that to Cleveland.thedynasty1998;417661 wrote:So you think Gilbert released a professional and classy statement?
