    LA Lakers

amare off the suns, nash one more year older

    boozer off the jazz

billups one more year older, frontcourt trouble

Lakers just gotta get by the thunder this year.

Rest worked wonders on this team last year, I expect them to get even more this year, # 6 for kobe and d fish # 12 for phil

Umm we still haven't re-signed Fish or Brown. Gotta address the depth of this team.
  • wes_mantooth
    Yep...the West is much weaker.

The thunder will be beating the lakers in no time. The Thunder are the real winners.

yea I know they haven't but they will sign fish back, cause thats what they do

I think they will both sign and the lakers will be in great shape to make it back to the tittle game once again.

A healthy Yao might be the next rival to worry about. The Lakers have never had an answer for him...and were fortunate he had an injury in 09

A healthy Yao wouldn't even take the current Rockets to the playoffs. And not to mention Yao will NEVER be 100% again. And that's a shame because we never will get to see him at his best.

With Yao, the current Rockets win 55 games last year. So you are wrong about that. You may be right about the 100% Yao...but even at 85%...he is still one of the top big men in the NBA. The rest (that he was never afforded due to his responsibility to the Chinese National team) might do him well. All the buzz about free agency....a solid back up center may be all the Rockets need to compete in the West. Cut Yao's minutes to about 30/game...his productivity will increase deeper into the season. The Rockets are a solid, young basketball team.

I agree. Aaron Brooks is a good young PG and Yao, when healthy, is impossible for any team to stop.

i agree with 2 quick, for once
  • 2quik4u
    who is that?
  • Skyhook79
Considering the Lakers have won the stacked West 3 times in a row, I don't think weakened West will pose many if any problems.

Thunder and Rockets appear to be the only real threats at this point.

The Rockets are not a threat. They didn't make the playoffs this past season, and yes i know Yao is coming back, but who is to say he is going to be 100%? Chances are he will probably get hurt anyway. When was the last time he played a full season? Even with a healthy Yao, I see the Lakers beating them in 5 easily.

He won't be full strength ever again.

Miami is the winner if Lebron heads to South Beach.

the real winner in free agency, joe johnson.

on the 1st and 15th, that man is going to open a paycheck bigger than chris bosh, dwayne wade and possibly lebron james.

    laughable.

I know the true Laker fans won't sleep on the Rockets....I mean the last time they met in the playoffs...without Yao...the series went 7 games....

This is a Rocket team that plays a different style and played solid defense all year without a legit 5....Chuck Hayes was the inside presence for goodness sake....If they get a serviceable backup for Yao....they will be a solid 3-4 seed in the West...that takes into account a early chemisty problem.
