Interesting. Is something up with Bronson? He's the last guy you expect to miss a start, and he was locked into this spot. Why would Fay say TBA? Keep an eye on this one.

As for the game, Niese is an Ohio kid who has done pretty well lately. I'm kind of surprised to see Heisey sitting, even though Bruce has been better against lefties, he has struggled in this series and lately against lefties. -
wildcats20I thought they announced yesterday that Bronson would be throwing tonight??

BigAppleBuckeyeNiese is my favorite Mets pitcher right now, love this kid. Been on fire lately (which will probably lead to me jinxing him), but he's a crafty lefty with great stuff, and has really had a strong season despite coming off an injury, as well as being involved in pretty much every Cliff Lee rumor in the tabloids (although Minaya has said that Niese is not going to be traded).

They did, and he was scheduled, but Fay just posted on his Twitter that the SP was TBA. Knowing Bronson, he would be locked into the spot once it was announced, and since they threw Maloney last night, you have to wonder what is going on. There is nobody else available unless they wanted to use Owings or something. The weekend is already lined up with Cueto, Leake, Wood and Maloney. The ONLY thing I could think of was they have decided to not use Maloney again, push everyone else back a day and go with Arroyo, Cueto, Wood and Leake in the 4 games against Philly. That, or POSSIBLY bring Volquez up...even though Walt said last night Edinson will start this weekend in Louisville and return to Cincy AFTER the break and not before.
Either way, it makes no sense for Fay to say TBA for tonight's SP at 1PM on game day. Unless there was a freak injury or accident, Arroyo has a rubber arm and can always go on 3 or 4 days rest. -
wildcats20Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking AZ. I'm pretty sure Bronson could throw every other day.
-
Azubuike24Fay just tweeted that it was a mistake and he posted yesterday's lineup instead of today's, which had SP TBA.
No panic. Arroyo is going. Out for the day, catch ya'll on here this evening! -
wildcats20Ahh sounds good.
Need to get the dubya tonight. -
jordo212000I hope Ramon can make it back out there tonight
