osu45804STUBBSSSSSSSSSSSS 3 RUN BOMB 13-3

osu45804Paul Janish is 4-4 3RBI & a HR
-
ts1227The dude batting in Votto's place (Janish) is 4 for 4, that's an effective substitution!
-
mhs95_06How many starting pitchers get to bat twice in an inning, and then don't take the mound in the next half inning? Three times in six days a reds starting pitcher has batted in an inning and and then not taken the mound in the next half inning, and none of pitcher pulls were due to injury. Twice it happened to Mike Leake and his .344 avg and .400 on base avg. The other Arroyo.

Yes, how about we let Janish start more and sit Votto 90% of the games! -
osu458043 Homerun game for Stubbs!!!! 14-3 Reds
-
mhs95_06How about these moves after the Louisville game tonight? Option Leake to the minors(for a 10+ day rest). Bring up Hanigan to have three catchers this week with the dinged up ones we have. Friday, activate Volquez to start Friday(if it goes well tonight), and option Heisey to the minors if there are no outfieler injuries between now and then, making it thru the last weekend before the all-star break and maybe for a few games beyond with just four outfielders. The question is who leaves the 40 man roster when Volquez is activated.

The unexpected ejection of Votto helped both expose Dusty's line-up mistake and amend for it! Janish 4/4 with 3 runs and 3 RBI, while Cairo was 0/4. Plus very good defense at 3B.Ironman92;410192 wrote:Mike Leake vs Ted Lilly
Now we'll really see how Dusty is with the matchup........I believe Scott Rolen will be off tomorrow....IF he is will Dusty play Cairo or Janish?
Past belief would guarantee he'll play Cairo...but he seems to really be using the "numbers" since he was put on the hot seat back in late April / early May
Going by gut....he'll play Cairo....but let's look at the numbers Dusty
Career vs Ted Lilly.......Miguel Cairo 4/20.........Paul Janish (aka Jimmy Kimmel) is 2/3 with 2 doubles.
I know it's a tiny sample....but you don't luck out and hit 2 doubles in 3 AB versus a pitcher.....Janish is way more apt to go opposite field than Cairo.
Righties like Phillips and Gomes need to step up and hit Lilly tomorrow. -

It would be a very bad note to split this first series of the important road trip after they took the first two. I was going to be in favor of him winning the vote for that last all-star position, but now I am not after that outlandish behavior.
They did indeed "suck it up". -

They did indeed "add on" with 9 runs in the last 3 innings. -
mhs95_06With 14 of the 17 RBIs in the game coming with home runs, the bunt single by Janish following the Cabrera lead-off single, and the gapper by Ramon to knock in the tying and go ahead run were just as, or even more important, than all the home runs.

Ironman92I was dead on with my call on Janish over Cairo vs Lilly.....c'mon Dusty....use the obvious easy to find numbers!
-
Ironman92Votto has been there for the Reds most of the year and so many times....he blew his top today and the Reds picked him up....player #25 Paul Janish took his spot with 4 hits and 3 RBI....Stubbs, Phillips, Gomes and others supported Votto's ejection with great production......

jordo212000Great game today. Stubbs went off. Hopefully this will give him a boost in confidence

daveWhat a great game, Marty and the Cowboy were great to listen to today. They were both on top of their game.
Time for the real part of the road trip, so many good pitchers to face. 3 or 4 wins this week would be great. -

It would be nice if they switched it up every once in a while and gave us Marty and the Cowboy on tv. Thom Brennamen and Welsh have been getting stale for me -
Azubuike24Marty has been on the radio for 40 years. He isn't going to TV...
-
Azubuike24And BTW, I can't blame them for being pumped today. Everyone, especially Marty, loves to see the Reds smack around the Cubs.
Plus, I bet he was really trying to savor every moment at Wrigley. He's gotta go to New York for 3 and then Philly for 4...Marty hates both, especially playing at the Mets. -

Never said it was going to be a full time thing. I just think it would be cool if they switched the guys around for a game and gave the tv crowd Marty -
daveI could see Marty being talked into doing 1 tv game with Thom at some point.
Jordo, can't you pick up 700 where you are at? Sometimes I listen to radio feed while watching the game muted. They aren't synced up perfect but it's not bad.
For some reason Brantley's play by play was just really good today, some games it's really hard to listen to. Probably had a little to do with what AZ said and some to do with Votto getting snubbed. They were ripping on mlb for that, but Marty said he didn't blame Manuel at all. -

yeah we can get 700 wlw here (I live close near Athens). My problem is that it isn't synced up. I can't stand that delay haha.
