devil1197Head coaching success = under .500 winning % and players quiting on him within a short time span?

Four seasons of nearly a .600 winning percentage is head coaching success, big guy.
A lot of the record is because he was in a tough rebuilding situation in New Orleans. -
devil1197I bet every coach looking for a job would want the teams looking at their best years instead of the overall record.

How many coaches have perfect resumes, though?
The best coaches already have jobs. The ones with championship rings in recent years.
I said he had head coaching success not head coaching perfection. -
devil1197Hell, if you wanted a guy who ran a slow offense and never got it done might as well stay with Brown.
-
hoops23The thing that would concern me about Scott is the fact that his players often times said he didn't care about game film and once skipped out of a practice DURING the Finals to play golf while with the Nets..
-
devil1197Scott also is not interested in the Cavs job anymore per his agent and wished Shaw well.
-
NonI don't know. You guys always act like you have it all figured out.
But you were cocky as hell all season about the Cavs having things ready for the title run and they were out in the second round.
Devil, hoops, ltrain, sq crazies. -
hoops23Scott must be feeling a little ass hurt that the Cavs have given two guys face to face interviews while Scott received a phone interview.
Scott may go to the Clippers anyway if Phil comes back. -
devil1197As a fan who wouldn't be excited about their team that was winning 60+ games?
What else are you going to bitch about? -

hoops and ltrain are the same person, tard..
And nobody acts like they have it all figured out aside from you. You're the same guy going around all the soccer threads posting bullshit.
This isn't JJ Huddle and you can't ban me here, so I can call your bullshit out when I see it.
I wasn't anymore cocky than I should have been. Of course, as a fan of the team I expected them to do great things. So the fuck what? That's what being a fan is all about, especially if you're team is VERY GOOD. With that said, I admitted that other teams would give the Cavs trouble, I didn't think the Celtics would have that run, but I figured Orlando would be tough as well as LA (should we have gotten that far)..
Don't play that shit with me. -
NonEven before the Celtics series, everyone was over confident that the Celtics were old and they couldn't keep up with the Cavs depth.
I said after the Bulls series that the Cavs were vulnerable for the next round and devil said not this year. And everyone else was like the Celtics defense isn't good anymore. Garnett isn't good anymore.
Even back about midseason everyone was like there is no way LeBron will leave. He has everything he wants in Cleveland and he's the biggest star already. Now it's going down to the wire and there is a very legitimate chance that he could leave. He might not but that doesn't change the fact that he's playing out the drama and weighing a lot of options.
I'm not playing shit. Just saying don't think you know it all about basketball when you got schooled this year big time. -
Nondevil1197;405921 wrote:As a fan who wouldn't be excited about their team that was winning 60+ games?

Excitement is one thing. Overconfidence is another.
You should've known that the playoffs are a different story and not to be so overconfident about a team that's never proven they can do it when it matters.
I don't even watch the NBA all that much and I told you guys that before. Boston was tough defensively and battle tested. Totally different than the Bulls.
Just step up your game, that's all. -
hoops23I was schooled on nothing.

Boston?
I don't know about that one.
Boston's defense is way better than Chicago in the playoffs.
hoops23;330480 wrote:Yep, which is why Boston and Chicago went 7 games last season in the 1st round.
Non;330484 wrote:Yeah Garnett was out last season.
Which makes it irrelevant.
hoops23;330549 wrote:People are easily swayed by Boston, aren't they?
devil1197;330499 wrote:LeBron has scored no less than 30 points this year against Boston in every game, just like most teams they have no one to guard LeBron.
The way our role players are stepping up at different points throughout the series, I'll have faith in Cleveland's offense. Jamison is averaging 19 ppg with efficient shooting and every Cav that has played decent minutes has stepped up at one point.
Cleveland did not have this type of bench support last season.
Non;330601 wrote:Hey I'm giving my opinions. I don't care if it's considered being swayed or not. The Celtics take a lot more pride in their defense and have more toughness in those situations than the Bulls.
That's not to say the Bulls were chumps. They played hard and brought some different problems. But nobody thought the road to the championship went through the Bulls, did they?
devil1197;330613 wrote:Non, Boston has had toughness all year but LeBron has averaged 30+ ppg against them. Their going to have to focus more on Bron and the way the supporting cast is playing that means bad news for Boston.
Cleveland just has too many weapons to use this season. If one guy isn't hitting tonight, two more step up and contribute. Last year, if West or Williams do not play well they had really no one else to turn to.
Hell, Cleveland hasn't even used one of the better 3 point shooters in the game. Their way too deep for someone to not step up. -
Non......
Non;330645 wrote:Yeah we'll see. That's the big question in my opinion. If this supporting cast will continue to provide the support needed to go through the playoffs. Even if they did all regular season and through one round, they have to keep doing it against the best competition. Even doing well against the Celtics in the regular season vs. the playoffs are two different things.
I think they might have too many weapons this season, like you said, but I'm not as certain, being an unbiased observer.
devil1197;331116 wrote:LeBron won't have a bad series, he had a bad game last night and almost had a triple double.
Boston hasn't been able to stop him all year, they have absolutely no one that even matches up with him. -
Non....
Non;330375 wrote:I've only watched Games 2 and 5. In both contests, the Bulls kept up until the fourth and then they couldn't get any stops. It was either LeBron scoring or passing to somebody for a three.
I can't imagine the Cavs being as efficient against the Celtics or Lakers or Magic in this scenario.
hoops23;330376 wrote:Ok, the Bulls are a scrappy defensive minded team. The Cavs, haven't played up to their full potential, except in a few stretches during this series.
The Cavs were the best defensive team in the league all season, I'm not worried about that department.
The Bobcats kept it close with the Magic in every game except Game 2.
The Bulls throttled the Bobcats at the end of the season.
The Bulls have been through a plethora of injuries this year, including Rose, Deng, Noah, not to forget they traded Salmons and Thomas. The Bulls were at one point, 8 games over .500 and beat a few elite teams on the road during one of their road trips.
The fact that they still fought their way to .500 after all of that, speaks volumes to the make up of their team.
I'm glad the Cavs were tested. It'll only help us later on... -
2quik4udamn someone just got sq'ed
-
hoops23Wow.. You took the time to look up a thread about the Boston series to prove a point?
You failed.
Not only did I, myself mention that I was wrong about Boston, but I also mentioned that those comments comes with being a fan.
And out of those 3 quotes I never pounded my chest and proclaimed the Cavs would dominate. I simply made observations from that period of time and argued as fan. Get the fuck over it.
You really are fucked up. -
NonLook at this backpedaling.
It took me a few seconds to pull it up.
I'll give ya a break. You weren't nearly as confident as devil at that point in time.
But a schooling nevertheless. -

I never backpedal, you also didn't school me, at least no where near as bad as I did you on the soccer thread.
You fraud. -
jpake1Hoops is a pretty cool dude, although he's a douche for changing his name, LTrain was cooler to spot. There were more cocky people on here... SQ being top dog, and a few others throught the year. Hoops was never a prick about it, he might have been wrong about stuff and a bit cocky here and there (Cleveland fans deserve the right to be cocky.. they've never experience that before, sorry guys ha) and never thought the light would come from the tunnel, but there were people waaaaay worse. He was a huge fan that got real excited about his team and every now and then would talk a bit of trash like he probably does in a pick up game when he's making 3's. It's out of fun with that guy, and I don't know him. However, I know SQ more than anybody and if you think he's bad on here, trying knowing him in real life. And yes, that's my challenge for his bitch ass to come back and talk some smack. I got a feeling he's reading this, just itching to post.
-
hoops23LOL!
Yes, nothing wrong with some trash talk back and forth.. As a fan of Cleveland sports teams, you learn to give it out when you can...
Trust me, for as bad as any Cleveland fan gave it, we got it back 100x worse and it had nothing to do with posters on this site. Seeing our team choke away ANOTHER opportunity was enough to rip our hearts out.
Though SQ did take it up the ass here once the Cavs lost. -
jpake1Yes SQ did. His demise was interesting. He went from a constant poster on JJHuddle to one of the more respected guys, then to one of the more respected posters about NBA ball (although it was mostly because he posted the most, not because his insight was correct) to one of the most idiotic posters. I think he got all cocky because people thought he was smart, then made dumb ass predictions and comments, and was wrong on a lot of them throughout the last year and so on. I think it turned out to be a guy who thought he knew what he was talking about, that talked a lot, but turned out to talk out of his ass. If you couldn't tell, I'm provoking him out of retirement. He ran and hid because he couldn't take that he wasn't well respected anymore. Bitch.
