Kobe named Finals MVP
-
newarkcatholicfanLove seeing Kobe get the better of the two MVP'S again.
-
wes_mantoothTeam LA sure did get it done against Team Boston. Way to go Player Kobe!!
-
elbuckeye28I think Gasol deserves it over Kobe.
-
newarkcatholicfanNow that was a great JJHUDDLE like move changing the thread title.
-
JugheadHell, give Artest the damn MVP. He is the only reason why L.A. was even in this game tonight.

Well after such a bad performance tonight by Kobe, I would think they would maybe give it to the guy who averaged a double double and, along with Artest and the refs, was a main reason they won they game. -

For as bad as he was, he still had 23 and 15 while Gasol had 19 and 18. Both shot like shit from the field, so its not like Gasol was really anymore super human than Kobe.Well after such a bad performance tonight by Kobe -

You're right I probably jumped the gun on that, but I just get tired of hearing how clutch and great Kobe is when in these playoffs he had two game winning misses that got rebounded in and shot 25% in game 7 of the NBA Finals. If Lebron misses a game winner you know it's not getting tipped in and if he went 25% from the field in a game, they are not winning that game. -
Skyhook79Kobe's defense on Rondo and Ray Allen during the series was excellent. Rondo didn't get where he wanted like he did in the Cavs series. Kobe chased those 2 around and still was very good on the offensive end for most of the series. His will is unmatched by anyone in the League.
-
newarkcatholicfanAt least James has those two MVP'S for the regular season which I am sure Lakers fans are more happy with KOBE getting the MVP that means so much more.
-
Pick6im sure the lakers fans are happy with a championship. i really dont think they give a shit who wins the mvp of a seven game series, even though you are being asinine if you dont think gasol was a big reason they won this series.
-
newarkcatholicfanIt took the team to win it even someone like you have to know this but then again I have often given way too much credit to several posters on here that time has shown did not deserve it.
-
sleeperGasol or Artest deserved it, but we all know the NBA is going to give it to the figure head player on the championship team.
-
skankKobe sure did deserve the MVR last night. Of course....he deserves the MVR every year.

lol you really cant stand kobe winning another title -
sleeperI don't have a problem with Kobe winning another championship, its still a team accomplishment. Lebron is still heads and shoulders above Kobe.
However, shooting 6-24 is absolutely terrible, if that's the best player in the league than the NBA is a terrible league. -

6-24? Is that the ratio of convictions to actual rapes? -
Swamp FoxGasol is good, but not nearly the level of Bryant. Gasol will sit on the floor waiting for the foul he thinks should be called as the game is heading to the other end with a 5 on 4 due to Gasol pouting back behind the action. Don't get me wrong, Gasol is a terrific player and yes, it's probably true that without Gasol, the Celtics win. Gasol is simply not as tough on the floor as Bryant. Does anyone think that the Lakers would have won without Kobe's points, his rebounds, his clutch foul shots after shooting badly for three quarters in the Title game, his passion, his desire for the basketball knowing that even though he wasn't having a great game his team was counting on him at crunch time? Artest? He played very well. He did a lot of good things for the Lakers and he kept his volatile personality under control most of the time. Did you notice Bryant talking to him in the huddles and out on the floor. Do you think Artest's demeanor on the floor was influenced by Bryant? I certainly do. There was only one logical winner of the MVP Award and they gave it to the right guy.

Its better than 3-14 and losing by 32 at home and not giving a crap in your teams most important game of the season.
Kobe did something Lebron couldn't or wouldn't do and that is beat the Celtics and guard Rajon Rondo AND keep him from taking games over like he did at will against the Cavs. -

Your highlighted sentence is what I've been saying all along. -
mths_2013Figures. He's the NBA's favorite player, besides LeBron. God damn, I'm not ready for July 1; all the many times I'll be hearing the two words "LeBron James."
