  Impressive Mets phenom Jonathan Niese on the hill tonight ... Niese actually grew up a big Indians fan (see short video here: http://www.metsblog.com/2010/06/16/video-jon-niese-talks-ohio-and-rooting-for-indians/ ).
  
  Kid reminds me of Andy Petitte, but with better stuff. Hope the Mets don't deal him for Lee (unless we are SURE Lee signs long-term).

  Defiance has another stud pitcher right now I believe. Following in the foots of Billingsly and Niese.

  Niese was one hit away from a perfect game last outing ... granted it came early in the game, but he only faced 28 batters in a dominant performance against the Padres.

  This year, they had Dace Kime, who was drafted by the Pirates in the 8th round. 7-0 with a 1.21 ERA. From a site I frequent that analyzes every single player in their system, I read this about him:
  

  Kime experienced some shoulder tightness in summer 2009 and tweaked his biceps in a slide. The latter may have affected his pitching some, but according to Baseball America he threw 86-91 afterward. His curve has an extreme break but he can't throw it for strikes. Kime has a commitment to Louisville and might be better served by going to college.

  Dace Kime, thats who it was. Defiance usually seems to be a factory for good pitchers. They dont go long without a top pick at pitcher.
