Dodgers @ Reds - Game 1

Man the bullpen continues to suck. Harang wasn't good either.

    A few things:

-Be easy on the bullpen......this is the last major league experience some of them will get in a long time.

-Our offense destroys bad pitching but is awful against good pitching.

-Harang needs out of the rotation ASAP. Give him a shot at the bullpen before trading him.

    -We NEED Edinson Volquez.

-We NEED another bat in the lineup.....I'd be willing to trade Stubbs.

1). The season isn't so young anymore. There are no more excuses.

2). This may be the most short-sighted most I've seen you post. The guy is a rookie who plays a nice CF and he has been hitting well lately. Who are you going to trade for that can play CF, and who is going to trade a legit CF to the Reds? You have to be realistic. There are not many great CFs out there. I mean just look at the fact that Corey Patterson and Fast Willy keep getting contracts.

The lineup is among the best in the National League. You're pointing the finger at the wrong group of guys.

Zero runs tonight against a mediocre pitcher (one who we scored 6 runs off of last time we played them). This lineup would get embarrassed in the playoffs. Drew Stubbs is a good player, why do you think I want to trade him?

It always boggles my mind people who argue about which players to trade. If you mention a good player people act like you're crazy but what the FUCK are we going to get if we trade some piece of shit?! You have to trade someone with potential and/or talent. Stubbs has both, and I have a feeling we could get something for him. I'd be comfortable sticking Heisey out there if what we got in return was something other than a CF. Why is it short sighted to say our lineup isn't going to cut it the whole year especially into the playoffs. We can't hit aces......what the fuck else are we supposed to do....hope we figure it out?!

First of all, its a marathon not a sprint.

I would NOT trade Drew Stubbs. Everyone has to remember that next year is the year the Reds were truly aiming for to compete. I know if you have the opportunity this year, you need to go for it but not if it means losing some of our future.

Volquez is coming back, lets see if he still has his stuff. I would move Harang to the bullpen assuming Volquez can take a spot in the rotation. Bottom line, we need to get through this cycle and one of the many live arms is going to have to suck it up and come through. I would not mortgage the future this year. It's too early in the Reds rebuilding cycle to give up pieces like Stubbs, etc.

Last night was UGLY. I couldn't stomach it after the 7th.

It is short-sighted because you are ignoring the first part of the season and only focusing on the past week or two. You can't score 6 runs every single night. There are going to be times where you don't score any. Like I said, this lineup is among the best in the National League. There are several potential all-stars in the lineup. You need to take a deep breath and relax.

Going all in to win one season at the expense of future seasons is not what the Reds need to do.

This team has been sucking balls lately..Good thing the Cards havent been playing very well either. Next 9 games(after LA series) are against Seattle,Oakland, and Cleveland. If they dont win 6 of those games i have a feeling they are gonna be in bad shape.

Exactly. I meant to include that in my post as well. The Cardinals have flaws too. They aren't perfect. Heck they just picked up a seemingly washed up Jeff Suppan for a spot start.
