  Man I still hold that guy responsible for wrecking my adopted team. I loved watching them play. The Shaq trade has to go down as one of the worst NBA trades in history IMO

  Really? Because after trading Shaq they went from no playoffs to playing in the WCF.. You sure it was that bad of a trade?
  
  With that said, hopefully Amar'e wants out and we re-visit trade talks with them (I can dream)

  The owner is a cheapskate and never wanted to pay anyone. Reports are he wanted Kerr to take a pay cut, and their head coach is among the NBA's lowest paid. He's sold draft picks, traded players to avoid the luxury tax, and has shown little willingness to spend the necessary to spend what is necessary. In other words the Suns have Dolan disciple for an owner. Not surprised in the least Kerr chose to walk away.

  You're forgetting that they missed the playoffs that season with the big Diesel clogging things up for them. Plus you have the fact that he hired Terry Porter in an attempt to make them become more methodical offense. That lasted a few weeks before he reluctantly gave the job to the guy he should have given it to in the first place.
  
  They tried trading Shaq but couldn't. And then once the Cavs panicked in the off-season they traded Shaq away for some peanuts. And then boom Western Conference Finals. Funny how that works. So yeah... it was a bad trade.

  The Shaq trade wasn't bad for Phoenix and it wasn't bad for Cleveland, certainly no where near "one of the worst trades in NBA history"...

  That wasn't a bad trade IMO. A pretty good one actually. People make a big thing about it because they helped create a dynasty. They got his brother that is turning out to be a pretty damn good center, let alone the draft picks they got. Pau would have left sooner or later.

  Another one of the worst is the Cavs being dumb enough to want Jameson when no one else in the NBA would sniff that contract.

  Are you crazy? How can you say the Shaq trade was good for the Suns? They lost a year because of that trade. He completely killed the chemistry and mojo that they had. The Suns play fast paced, they push it, and they run pick and rolls. None of those things are things Shaq is good at. The Suns were 34-14 before the trade and didn't make the playoffs after that. You can say a lot of things, but the one thing you can't say was that the Shaq trade was "good" for the Suns. Ask a person out in Phoenix how good that trade was

  That's what I wasn't understanding.. I thought you were talking about the Suns trading AWAY Shaq being bad, not the Suns trading FOR Shaq being bad.
  
  I never said trading for Shaq was good for the Suns, I said trading Shaq away was good for the Suns.. We were definitely on different pages within that conversation.
