    Subbing again in bulk. SMH

LeCure is either due for a really good game where he goes deep or a really bad game.

Is this game not in HD?
  • osu45804
Down 1-0 Bottom of the 1st
  • osu45804
Orlando singles, steals second & wild throw gets him to 3rd... Ground out by Cairo scores Cabrera followed by a HR from Votto 2-1 Reds

I haven't seen the replay yet, but I think Greinke has a point that the ball he hit was off his foot and the umps didn't call it foul, and it stood for the 3rd out in the 4th.
  • osu45804
Reds have been retired in 11 straight plate appearances
  • osu45804
Billy Butler 2 out 2-Run HR gives KC the 3-2 lead
  • wildcats20
Greinke has only thrown 55 pitches through 5....

LeCure has thrown 108 through 6....
  • Ironman92
    gotta have good plate approaches

Phillips is out for he's still having those cramps in his legs...had em for a while now.

Look for Rolen and Phillips to make some pinch hit appearances in a few innings

Need electronic balls and strikes as Gomes whole AB was changed by a bad call on the 1-1 pitch, a low outside slider the ump called a strike, which should have made it 2-1 instead of the 1-2 it was called and put Gomes at the mercy of another low and even further outside slider that he went around on, only becasue the other one had been called strike 2. Completely unfair to Gomes!

Good effort by Janish on the flare right over his head. He put his glove out where he thought it might be, but it fell about a yard to the left of the glove.
  • mhs95_06
In an unusual development, Herrera comes into the game with a baserunner to face a left and actually gets his first pitch curveball over for a strike. Unfortunately, the 2nd pitch was similar and laced into LF for a double by DeJesus which now puts the onus of Del Rosario to get the 3rd out with runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Honest to god, Who the HELL is Billy Butler? .... 5-2 KC

    He's a pretty good player.

Unfortunately the Reds bullpen consists of a lot of not very good players.

Del Rosario gives up a double to RF to Butler to make it a 5-2 KC lead. Batters are really tough when they take the outside pitches to the opposite field like they did against Herrera and Del Rosario, just like the Reds line-up is very touigh when Phillips, Gomes, and Bruce are doing that along with the others who generally do it like Votto, Rolen, Hernandez.

Stubbs has a lot of very poor ABs, why don't we see Heisey more?
  • Ironman92
He's also been solid since moving to the 7 hole and has driven in a lot of big runs
  • osu45804
Losing 2 of 3 at home to the 3rd worst team in the AL record wise is unacceptable
  • osu45804
    Masset w/ a 2 out Solo HR to DeJesus ... PATHETIC 7-2
  • Ironman92
Well the Reds did a game better this year versus the Royals

It's baseball...anyone can beat anyone in a series. You gotta play well to win more often than not.

Grienke was what 1-8?.....he also has a Cy Young award....Nick Massett does not
  • osu45804
Well I did get 2 HR's from Votto in my Fantasy League, that's a plus I can take from this game I guess

    LeCure 6 2/3's Innings 120 pitches

Grienke 9 Innings 105 pitches and only 28 balls
  • mhs95_06
Bullpen gets the last 7 outs of the game, but the score goes from a 3-2 deficit to a 7-2 deficit with each of the 3 relievers being charged with a run allowed, not to mention the inherited runner(on first with already two outs) that they also allowed to score and charged to LeCure.

Agreed. Short-sighted folk point to his batting avg as a reason why Stubbs should be taken out. However, they forget that about a month ago he was hitting about .190. That tells you how well he has been hitting the ball since then. His avg is up to around .240. Those critical of Stubbs ignore his solid OBP and his knack for knocking in runs. Plus he plays a nice CF.

With that being said, he did look bad today, but so did a lot of other guys. Grienke will do that to you

Yes, that is true. It seems like that squirrel occasionaly finding the acorn. He looks bad most of the time, but occasionally he gets a big hit. I wish he would mis-hit it more often instead of striking out, becasue when he hits one that takes at least three bounces on the ground he almost always is safe at first. You'd hope he would bunt more and get more adept at it, but the poor effort at that on the suicide squeeze last night showed his poor bunting accumen. And trying to go to the opposite field could help him also.
