devil1197Cleveland:
Re-sign LeBron James.
Trade for CP3 or Bosh by taking on a huge salary (Okafor/Hedo).
Buy into the 1st round and select PF/C.
Use the MLE on a SG or C.
Sign Jackson as the HC. -
2quik4utrade bynum for bosh
a even better dynasty is made -
jpake1Miami Heat:
1.Trade Beasley 4.962M + Jones 1.86M + 18th to the Wizards for 2nd '10 + future 1st
2. Trade Cook + 43rd '10 + possible cash if need be to ANY team willing to take on his 2.170M
3. Keep Chalmers .847k --------1 player .847K
4. Resign Wade 16.57M -- 2 players @ 17.417M -- 4.736M roster hold -- Total 22.153M
5. Resign Joel 1M -- 3 players @ 18.417M -- 4.262M roster hold-- Total 22.679M
-- Note, Joel will keep his 825,497K so Wright can be sign, don't feel like fixing all the math
6. Sign LBJ 16.57M-- 4 players @ 34.987M-- 3.789M roster hold-- Total 38.775M
7. Sign Bosh 16.57M- 5 players @ 51.557M -- 3.316M roster hold-- Total 54.872M
8. Sign Antoine Wright 1.8M- 6 [email protected] (fixed math for Joel)-- 2.842M hold-- Total 56.02M
-- Now Miami can go over the cap with minimum players
9. Sign Arroyo .885K-- 7 players @ 54.038M-- 2.368M roster hold-- Total 56.406M
10. Sign Raja 1.352M-- 8 players @ 55.39M-- 1.895M roster hold-- Total 57.285M
11. Sign Shaq 1.352M-- 9 players @ 56.742-- 1.42M roster hold-- Total 58.163M
12. Sign T.Thomas 1.352M-- 10players @ 58.094M-- .947K roster hold-- Total 59.041M
13. Sign Joe Smith .826K-- 11players @ 58.92M-- .473K roster hold-- Total 59.393M
14. Sign R.Murray 1.223M-- 12 players @ 60.143-- no cap hold so 60.142 is the Total
15. Sign 2 rookies at the minimum or bring over Beverly/Dozier to have a 15 man roster.
16. Pat comes down to be the head coach.
--Note: The total money may actually be less, some of the vet min guys might be making too much. I didn't know if the years counted total in the league or just on the team. There are a few guys with several years in the league that are making the 2-3yr min.
If there is something illegal there, let me know. I'm not aware of all the rules. I don't know if that's possible, but I think all the guys I named would take the min to play with Wade, LBJ, and Bosh. I think that would be enticing to the big three to play together. They round out the roster with some decent vets. Next year they'd be able to sign somebody for the MLE to have a nice 6th man.
PG: Chalmers / Arroyo / draft pick
SG: Wade/ Bell/ Murray
SF: James/ Wright/
PF: Bosh/ Thomas/ Smith
C: Shaq/ Joel/ draft pick -
sleeper^ That team would win 10 championships.

hoops23I may go more in depth with this later, but the Cavs still own the rights to Wally Z, which means they can sign him for a 1 year deal worth any amount and use his ass as an expiring contract...
So, with that in mind, you know you have these:
Delonte 4.5 mill (500k guaranteed by Aug. 3rd)
AP 2.6 Mill
Moon 3 mill
Bassie PO - 2.8 mil
Powe 1 mill
Danny Green 457k
JJ Hickson 1.4 mill
Then, you have these guys locked up for two year:
Mo 8 mill
Antawn 11 mill
Those contracts turn into big expiring contracts after next season.
With that in mind, I could see Dan Gilbert signing Wally to something like a 12-14 million dollar deal, then using him as part of a trade for CP3 and Emeka, or Monta Ellis and Anthony Randolph. Possibly Bosh and Hedo as well.
With that said, if Gilbert were to sign Wally for 14 million, he could pair him with Delonte and JJ, throw in a little cash consideration and a future 1st round pick in part of a package for CP3 and Emeka (the trade I would most like to happen.
By getting CP3 and Emeka, you're taking care of your needs for another star with LeBron and getting a legit big time PG. You're also getting a good front court player who is great defensively and rebounding.
You could then use the MLE on another front court player, or a SG/SF
Mo then could be traded, or even slid into the SG role where he could come off picks and pops.
Given those two scenarios, you'd have a line up of:
CP3/Mo/LeBron/Jamison/Okafor
Bench Green/Powe/AP/Moon/Boobie/Andy
Or if you trade Mo, it would obviously look different with AP starting at the 2 and whoever we got in return in the lien up or bench.. Just not sure what we could trade Mo for at this point. -
SQ_CraziesCue dynasty (the poster) to come in here and tell jpake that LeBron and D-Wade couldn't play together because they dominate the ball too much...lol
-
jpake1That's a damn good team, but I don't know if it gets them a ring. I'd have to see Okafor play at the 5 in that system. I think that's the ONLY way NO would do a trade. If Wally agreed to a buyout less than 2M and they cut West meaning they'd be paying something like 4M. I think they'd ask for a few 1st rounders.. probably 2-3, with a 2nd or so. You gotta think.. as much as NO wants Okafor gone, the Cavs want to keep LBJ in Cleveland more. So yeah, in the case I think NO listens if they can save about 20M the first season plus get some 1st rounders (although they'd be at the end).
-
hoops23Okafor gives us what we would need, a defender, shot blocker, and rebounder from the C position. He also improved his offensive game last season.
Playing alongside CP3 and LBJ would give him about 1,000,000 alley oops on the season.
But yeah, I agree that the Cavs would give up more than 1 1st rounder, but you can't trade 1st round picks in successive years, which means it'd have to be a 2011 and 2013 1st round pick I think, then a couple of 2nd rounders.
The good thing is, you also have Andy and Powe on the bench and as long as we kept Moon/Boobie/AP/etc we'd probably snag a C or PF with the MLE.
Or, you could still package Bassie and AP/Moon for another post guy and use the MLE on another SG or SF.
Of course, you could throw a package similar to that one together for Bosh as well..
The Cavs DO have a lot of options, and the way Dan Gilbert is talking, they will all be explored. -
SQ_CraziesYeah, I'd love to have Okafor. Don't forget, it wasn't long ago that he was a double-double machine. He's still a very good role player, just needs a change of scene and a different offense.

jpake1It'll be a fun offseason once shit starts to go out.. whether it's BS or not, we'll still discuss it.

jpake1One thing that could make it more interesting is if the Wiz buyout Arenas. I could see him doing a 1yr dirt cheap deal to a loaded team then asking for more later.

devil1197Wally will take any amount of a buyout as Cleveland would be doing him a favor in getting him some extra cash.
Wally can basically be signed to any amount of money. -

SQ_CraziesLOL, I've got you so fired up you're turning into a troll now. I said I could make an argument, and I could. But I also said that I'm not going to bother arguing that with you because you think Noah is better than Varejao so I already know it's a waste of my time.

You'd think someone that was good enough to get interest from the NBA wouldn't be stupid enough to think that LBJ and D-Wade couldn't play together. And then when a damn solid argument is presented to you, you just say, "Poor argument!!!"
