First Place Reds @ Braves

    It's a 7:10 start at Turner Field.

    Harangatang(2-5 6.02) vs Kawakami(0-6 5.79)

The lineup I'd like to see:

    Heisey
    Phillips
    Votto
    Gomes
    Rolen
    Bruce
    Cabrera
    Hanigan
    Harang

I would guess Stubbs and Hernandez will get a start though.

I think its back to our regular lineup. Hanigan has been catching Harang so I think we'll see him tonight.

Lefties are absolutely crushing Kawakami and I like to hear that. Last year in Cincinnati Jay Bruce went 2-2 off Kawakami with 2 HR's. Votto was also 2-2 with 2 doubles against him in that same game.

Unfortunately I wonder if this means Dusty will give Nix the start over Gomes, not just because of the matchup but also to give Gomes the day off. Lets hope that Dusty's tendency to ride a guy while he's hot wins over his tendency to play the matchup. Gomes has been hitting righties pretty well lately anyways.

Harangatang has thrown better since.........the media speculation of him going to the BP. They hounded dusty about it for a few days....then he started to throw better.

    Coincidence?

Sometimes it takes an extreme for a player to get over his CRI issues and just play.

In years past, it was beating the team that we “should" beat that hurt us most. If this team can take advantage of these next 3 series, then we will be in good shape.

Beat the teams with worse records then us
win series' and eliminate losing 2 or 3 in a row
win a few games on the west coast.

If we can do those things, we will be in it at the end.

Why wouldn't you continue to bat Cabrera leadoff?

Mooney: Wonder if Dusty would consider giving Heisey the start in left if Gomes gets the day off? Stubbs is the better player out of he and Nix. Neither have been hitting much, but Stubbs at least is getting on base

I'd love to see that. With Heisey playing well, Nix has become almost expendable.

Stubbs has been hitting all of May. He has an OPS of 1.128 over the last week. His stats have been very good overall in the #7 slot. He has a slash line of .302/.375/.535 (910 OPS) in 43 AB as the seventh hitter in the line-up.

I just liked Heisey's approach as a leadoff hitter yesterday.

agreed. I was just mainly talking in general. Stubbs is still hitting .198 despite all of his hot hitting in May.

Dating back to May 14th he is 3/14 or .214, (albeit he has 5 RBIs) so he still hasn't been hitting a ton lately. I like the fact that he takes a walk and does whatever it takes to get on base

    Heyward=dirty
  • stroups
haha phillips swallowed his dip............. I have done that before and that is a sickening feeling. I guarantee I would of ralphed in front of everybody in the stadium.
  • speedrush1189
Harang the gas can....... He is lucky BP made a sick ass catch or it would be 2-0. BTW, BP play had better be one of the top 3 plays of the night on SC.
  • stroups
Chipper is getting old............... young Chipper would of put that ball in the upper deck
  • Rotinaj
Im not watching the game live at the moment but watching the gamecast but from what i see this ump is calling an absolutely terrible game for Harang..Multiple called balls are in the strike zone from what im watching.
  • SportsAndLady
    Harang...you're killin me
  • speedrush1189
Got out of it. This guy for Atlanta has control issues. Should be able to scratch a few across and def should be able to get to the pen...... if Harang can keep us in it.
  • charliehustle14
Koakami sucks, but has been lucky thus far.

Votto hammered that ball and I'm pretty sure if his bat hadn't broken, that ball would have reached the wall or gone out.

And then Rolen creams a ball into the alley that would have scored BP easily, but it bounces over the wall and BP has to return to 3rd.
  • mhs95_06
Harang doubles to lead off the 5th. See how many the Reds can get!
  • mhs95_06
Two outs later Harang still on the bases!
  • SportsAndLady
Still feel good about this...Votto then hot hitting Rolen up next
  • SportsAndLady
    Welp nevermind I look retarded
  • charliehustle14
I can't believe we're being shut out by this Koakami fuck.
