Rank ALL Sports Stadiums/Arenas - ALL sports

  • BigAppleBuckeye
What are your Top 10 "Best Stadiums" (and arenas) in ALL sports? Very vague criteria, it can include history, the look of the stadium, capacity, pro, college, whatever.

The only rule: It HAS to still be in use (i.e., no "Polo Grounds", etc).

While I have only been to a handful of these, here is my top 10, based on a variety of feedback and info compiled via in-person visits, watching games on TV, reading online, etc:

    1. Fenway Park - been there once, nothing compares. A perfect game experience, passionate fans, etc
    2. Lambeau Field - The most special NFL field that plays host to a legendary franchise
    3. Ohio Stadium - OK, I am biased, but even before my OSU days as an impartial east-coaster, I always thought the 'Shoe was top dog in college
    4. Wrigley Field - can it get any better than a day game in Chicago in the summer? Still haven't been there, can't wait to!
    5. Madison Square Garden - Been here many times, I don't think any arena can compare. Would put it higher, but I hate the Knicks haha
    6. Michigan Stadium - While quiet at times, I can admit that the Big House is indeed a landmark with its share of history
    7. Churchill Downs - The Kentucky Derby will always be popular, and this venue is a big reason why
    8. Notre Dame Stadium - I don't care much for the team, but what history, with a Touchdown Jesus to boot
    9. Daytona Motor Speedway - I am no racing fan, but I know this place is special, just something about it
    10. AT&T Park (San Francisco) - While Fenway is still my favorite park, this place is by far the nicest, with a majestic setting on the Bay.

What about your top 10? (I am sure I missed some obvious ones, but I did this quick ...)

Lol...maybe you should make a little adjustment to your thread title...you list a lot that hardly qualify as pro stadiums.

haha, good point! I meant to say "all sports" not "pro sports." Mods, care to change that?

Well, I suppose you didnt mean PRO, since you have college on there, so with that in mind:

    1. Assembly Hall (Bloomington, Indiana) -- Home of the Hoosiers. It is my favorite team, and favorite sport. Has history. It is awesome.
    2. Notre Dame Stadium (South Bend, Indiana)
    3. Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis, Indiana)
    4. Fenway Park (Boston, Massachusetts)
    5. Camp Nou (Barcelona, Spain) -- Biggest stadium in Europe and home to arguably the best team in Europe.
    6. Hinkle Fieldhouse (Indianapolis, Indiana)
    7. Madison Square Garden (New York, New York)
    8. Joe Lewis Arena (Detroit, Michigan)
    9. Lambeau Field (Green Bay, Wisconsin
    10. AT&T Park (San Francisco, California) -- Maybe an odd choice, but I love the city, and I went when the stadium first opened.

Yep! The first 3 are my favorite teams in the given sports and I love the stadiums of them all. Then Hinkle is just self explanatory for anyone who loves college basketball like I do.

hmmm i dont think this is good to be able to list places you havent been to. i dont think all places live up to the expectation and vice versa. for example, last week i was at Kauffman stadium in Kansas City, and that stadium is really really nice and surprised me and my buddy. definitely in the top 3 of the stadiums i have been too and i have been the Busch, Wrigley and a few other nice ones. i also have a buddy who went to the old yankee stadium and it was the worst experience of their life haha.
