Charles Oakley:Lebron likely to sign with Chicago or Miami

jpake1I definitely understand the interest in the Bulls. That would be a scary team. I don't know about Kirk and Taj as starters. They'd need another move or two for me to call them championship leaders.

Did you think that the Cavs were Championship contenders? Even if they don't make another move, they are better than the Cavs of this year.jpake1 wrote: I definitely understand the interest in the Bulls. That would be a scary team. BTW, there is an article on ESPN saying that WWW has approached a few teams about a package deal of Calipari and Lebron, and Chicago is confident that they land Lebron. -
jpake1I thought they were contenders, but I never thought they'd beat the Lakers for a championship. I do agree that Chicago teams is better than the current Cavs team. I think he knows that too, he'd just have to deal with actually saying bye to Cleveland; maybe easier said than done, I don't know.
If LBJ wants to team up with Cal, I've overestimated his smarts like people have done with his teams. You're better than teaming up with the scum, but you've had WWW running by your side, so maybe LBJ is a bit of a doucher himself. -

Quoted for truth.thedynasty1998 wrote: Anyone that thinks Lebron will stay in Cleveland due to them being able to offer more money is just ignorant.
I also saw the package deal thing with Calipari on ESPN. It's been refuted, but with anything you have to suspect that there might be a little bit of truth to it. -
stlouiedipalmaTo me it's obvious that LBJ wants a title, and more than one if he can do it. The only question we should be asking is which team gives him the best opportunity to get the title and retain it. As much as I love the Cavs, I think that Chicago gives him the best opportunity. They have good young players and are only a piece or two from becoming a major power in the league. To me, LBJ provides both pieces for them. With the exception of going to the Lakers, no other team represents a chance for him to win now and keep winning for years to come. Cleveland can do it with him, but they need to hold together this fragile coalition they have. Besides, I think we all see that Mike Brown isn't the coach to take the Cavs over the hump. IMHO, if LBJ stays in Cleveland, Mike Brown has to go and must be replaced by someone who has what it takes in the postseason.

thedynasty1998Couple things that I keep reading that I don't agree with:
1. Lebron can make more money in Cleveland
2. Lebron's motivation is NBA titles
I'm not saying that neither of those are factors, but I think the biggest factor is fame. Where can Lebron go to turn himself into even more of a global icon than he is now? I think money and championships factor into that, but don't think Lebron's motivation is as simple as one singular thing. -
FootwedgeWow. USA Today listed odds (Danny Sheridan) of Lebron staying at 5 to 1 against.

I imagine he wants to accomplish other things; that doesn't mean he has to be a one trick pony. Nas once said 'You lose money chasing women, never lose women chasing money'. For LBJ's sake, it should be said that 'You lose titles chasing fame, never lose fame chasing titles'.thedynasty1998 wrote: Couple things that I keep reading that I don't agree with:

If only we were as sure of LBJ staying, as we are that Gibby is a douchebag, I think we'd all be very relaxed right now.SportsAndLady wrote: gibby is a douchebag, and Lebron's staying -
newarkcatholicfanKing Elbow would never go to Chicago because he knows he will never be able to live up to MJ.
