Where does Lebron James sign next year?

  • jpake1
Nope, not really. It would be interesting. I think it should happen. A chance to play with Wade and be coached by Riley? Let alone some more money to get another nice piece and vets that would take paycuts... why not?

I'd love to see D-Wade and LeBron on the same team.

Rose/Deng/Noah are all 25 or under and Rose looks like he might be a top 10 player in the league very shortly.

No other team has a better young core for him to team with.

Rose is 7 years younger than D-Wade, so if Lebron is looking at both next year and long term Chicago is a better option than Miami to team with Wade.

The Cavs are kind of screwed because they have no young talent that looks like a sure fire All-star and no cap room to be able to change the roster appreciably. They have no real assets to trade to bring in pieces that can really help.

I never considered the idea of him leaving as a realistic option, but when you really look at it the team is regressing and they don't have alot of flexibility to make things better.

Lebron is only going to sign a 3 year deal wherever he goes, so the fact we can offer him more money is kind of negated as he is not going to sign a 6 year deal here vs. the 5 year max other teams can offer which is the traditional advantage home teams have with the Bird rights ability to pay more to keep your own guys.
Chicago does have a really good young core. They could do great things there. Rose is younger than Wade, but make no mistake, Wade is definitely better. He's not old either. LBJ will sign a 3yr contract. Why not play with a PROVEN CHAMP for 3 years during his PRIME. The Cavs are screwed, and those are the exact reasons why I said he will leave if he does. That is something many Cavs fans never spoke much about. What is there in the future to get his dick hard? A team with real old post players?

LBJ and Wade would be awesome to watch. I'd like to see that happen and them sign Haywood to have good guy down low. Either keep Haslem or Beasley, or trade Beasley and others if it gives you more cap for bigger and better things. I really think Beasley would grow A LOT with LBJ & Wade together. But moving him might make more sense financially.

Yea im gonna laugh when Riley pimp smacks Spoelstra and takes over

If you ask me, Chalmers/Alston, Wade/Cook, Beasley and/or Haslem, Jermaine O'Neal sounds as good a situation as any if you ask me. Some solid talent that can only be made better by adding LeBron and D-Wade is the best player that he could potentially hook up with. I think people who don't think they're compatible have a screw loose.

I still think he's more than likely going to sign back in Cleveland but for the first time I have some doubt.

Wade and Lebron will eat up all of their available cap space. So you will have Lebron, Wade, Beasely (who they seem to want to trade) and a bunch of guys making the minimum. I don't see how that would be a better situation than Chicago both next year and going forward.

D-Wade is going to be 29 during the season, his window is not going to be open that much longer as a dominant, top 5 player. Chicago offers a much better shot at building something in both the short and long term. Lebron wants to win multiple championships, and the window would be wider for that in Chicago.

Jermaine O'neal will have to be renounced for them to get room to sign both Lebron and keep Wade.

That's what everybody thinks, but LBJ and Wade WILL NOT use up all their space. I research the stuff a lot more than anybody on here, they will definitely have enough.

I've messed around with some thoughts and I think this is a nice place to start. Chalmers, Jones, Cook, and Beasley are on the books. You keep Chalmers for the 847K. Jones has a buyout for 1.86, that will come in handy. They could trade Beasley to somebody like the Wizards for a future 1st so it doesn't collect a hold this year. They could try and package Jones and Cook with Beasley, or trade them together. A team with space that won't come close to getting anybody might take both of those guy if Miami adds a 1st. They could cut Jones and keep Cook for roughly 4.03M just for one year. If Miami is going to build a dynasty, they will be generous with draft picks. So that would leave just Chalmers for 847K. Miami will have to renounce all the FA's, but with good communication, that'll be okay. They could siign LBJ and Wade for 16.57 a piece. With three players that's roughly 34M. That would give Miami roughly 22M to sign an additional 9 players. I'd like to see the Heat resign Joel Anthony for the minimum 885K-- that's 4 for 34.87M. I'd like to see them resign Wright for about 2.5-- that's 5 for 37.37M. I'd like to see them sign Raja Bell for 1.352-- that's 6 for 38.72. I'd like to see them sign Haywood for about 5M-- that's 7 for 43.72M. I'd like to see them sign Haslem for about 5M-- that's 8 for 48.72M. I'd like to see Gooden signed for about 2.5M-- that's 9 for 51.22M. I'd like to see Shaq signed for 1.352-- that's 10 for 52.57M. They would need two more players, and I'd like to see them get a PG and SG/SF, or just two PG's since Chalmers can play the 2 and Wright could play the 2. If they went with 2PG's, I'd like one player to be Beverly from overseas for 473K. That would bring the team to 11 players for roughly 53.05M. That gives them roughly 3M to get a last player since they'll probably only carry 12. Some of those players might make less or more, but for the most part, I think they're pretty close. I think Shaq would play for the minimum for a year or two. I think Bell would too. I think Wright's contract would be fair. I'm not sure what Haywood and Haslem would recieve the first year of multi year contracts. Sorry for a long post, probably nobody will read that lol.

He will be greedy and take the money. Cleveland can offer the most ........... and they will.

Only idiots will disagree with this. :)

Three GMs checked in with Chad Ford of ESPN following Cleveland's elimination from the playoffs and said that based on the information they have, they believe LeBron James will leave the Cavs.

All three of them said they believe the destination will be the Chicago Bulls. Two said they believe that John Calipari will be the new head coach of the Bulls.

One GM went a bit further in a phone call a few minutes later. "I think the Bulls are really going to go for it. Look for them to offer the Cavs Luol Deng in a sign-and-trade for LeBron. That will allow them to retain most of their cap space. Then they'll go after Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh as well."

Cavs fans... do you see them accepting Deng in a sign and trade? I don't. He's a good player, but that's a pretty good contract to take on. If LBJ leaves, I think they trade to get a 1st and maybe James Johnson and start from scratch.

I don't think they would accept Deng.

Neither do I. Too big of a contract for a guy that's 'injury prone'. He would help them fight for the playoffs, but hold them back for years to come. Sorta like the Cavs recent moves might do to them right now.

    Sooo....

    PG...Chalmers/Beverly
    SG...Wade/Bell/Wright/Chalmers
    SF...LeBron
    PF....Haslem/Gooden
    C...Haywood/Shaq/Anthony

No offense in the paint. Not that they would need it anyways. I like the Bell addition. He has said(reportedly) that he wants to play in Miami.
  • jpake1
Yes I realized that, but I don't think they'd need it. They'd get it by easy looks from the two stars. I'd like to get scoring down low, but I don't see anything the works for the right money. My thinking is this... if MJ and Pippen can do without it, maybe Wade and LBJ can too.

I wanna know how 3 NBA GM's know anything about LeBron? Seriously, I think that's just BS reporting and nothing but something to get hits.

I don't know, believe what you want to, but that shit doesn't make much sense to me... Especially thinking that the Cavs would accept Luol Deng for LeBron James. If the Cavs traded LeBron (which would NEVER happen in the 1st place) the fanbase would alienate the Cavs far worse than anything the Tribe has even seen.

You can FORGET that move. If LeBron leaves, it will be his own doing, the Cavs will have no part in sending him away.
  • Big Red Monster
I say the Nets are still a major player for him.

The Russian will throw monster money at Johnny to be the coach.

It would be one of the biggest upsets of all time to see him stay in Cleveland.
  • hoops23
    upsets?
