apparently his numbers don't look great, but pitchers were pitching around him.
Hopefully he tears it up at AAA. If he does, either he, Nix, or Gomes become trade bait if the Reds are still in the hunt at the trade deadline and have a need to fill. -
wildcats20I don't think he'll ever see the field for the Reds with Joey holding down 1st base.
-
jordo212000Has he played in the outfield any? If he doesn't move to the outfield he is just trade bait. They aren't moving Votto

Ironman92Dusty Baker said Alonso needs to work on his pitchout and his ability to throw the ball to 3rd base from 1st.
-
Mooney44CardsAlonso has been playing mostly left field and will continue to get the majority of his starts in left field. Hence the Nix, Gomes, Alonso comment.

Ironman92I thought he was pitching.....hence the pitchout comment

Didn't realize that. I figured you meant the bats they all have.Mooney44Cards wrote: Alonso has been playing mostly left field and will continue to get the majority of his starts in left field. Hence the Nix, Gomes, Alonso comment.
But yeah I mean if he is playing well in left and is hitting, I don't see a problem with bringing him up. -

wildcats20Then again we had that in Dunner.......

Ironman92Dunn sucked
dumbass #6 hitter -
darbypitcher22could rally make for some good trade bait to get another bat or arm in the bullpen towards the deadline if they're still in the race, but yeah, probably will never put on the Cincinnati uni
