I haven't read every single post here, but I have a couple specific questions for Cavs fans.
1. Why would leaving Cleveland "tarnish his legacy"? What legacy are we talking about? I get that it might hurt Clevelanders' feelings, but Lebron's legacy is simple:
Win titles = discussed as potentially the greatest of all time
No titles = recognized as a great player, but nowhere near talk about being THE greatest
To the rest of the world, it doesn't matter where he wins as long as he does it.
2. When does the excuse about not having the supporting cast end?
They've been to the finals once and had the best record two years in a row...in a five year span. If that run ends with zero championships, how can it not affect Lebron's status when compared to other greats? Clearly, these teams have been ready to make the run. They just haven't gotten the job done.
Just to be sure, I do realize two things - 1) This series is not over - certainly the Cavs could pull it out and go on to a title and that changes all the press that Lebron is getting right now and 2) Lebron has many years ahead to change the current perception.
