Former NBA Greats on LeBron James

"When I watch LeBron James, a lot of times I think he's just out there teasing with the teams. He's getting other people involved early. Now, he can make the shots. He's awesome to watch. He's one guy in the league that I think he'll probably be better than all of us when it's all said and done."

I don't give a shit about any of this unless he wins us a title.

I love LeBron as much as anyone in terms of him being an NBA superstar, especially being on my favorite team, but if he can't win it this year then I could definitely see the "Overrated" talks begin to murmur.. Or at least the "Well, he can do all these things in the regular season, but come playoff time his teams falter"...

He's the greatest ever to not win a championship. He'll be the leader of that category for years to come the way it looks.

Hey SQ, some of us are actually Cavs fans, and not just Lebron James fans.

So hearing all of that doesn't mean two shits to any of us...all we want is the title.

Besides, its not like we didn't already know all of what they are saying...like really, he is a physical specimen?? I didn't know that already..

    Some comments were omitted.

"A mid-range jumper is all that separates him from Oscar." Jerry West

"I thought he would be bigger." Rondo

"Meadowlark did not dribble that much." Isiah Thomas

"He is the best ever. There will never be anybody better. We are all witnesses." V

"He wastes more powder than Scarface. It's the big nose." Shawn Kemp

"Damn. He cannot deliver neither." Karl

"The young man can dominate like nobody from his generation. He reminds me of me only without any of those meaningless rings." Bill Russell
  • Big Red Monster
He is pretty good, but he is no Jackie Moon.

    2 questions...

1...When did Rondo and V become NBA greats?
2....When did they retire? I am pretty sure I saw them play last night.

    Fail.

I disagree, I think his supporting cast is then considered overrated.

Nope, not when the media is proclaiming them the favorite and saying this is his BEST supporting cast since being here..

Not too mention the "No excuses if we don't win it all" comments..

I agree with Devil. I've said that before. If the Cavs can't win a title two years in a row with having the best record by a couple games, people will start to throw the overrated word out. I definitely won't agree with it because he's the best in the game. But there will be something to be said about the post-season struggles. I don't really think it would be the supporting cast being overrated. IMO, I think it would come down to the Cavs just being one of those regular season teams that overachieves more than a postseason team that chokes.

Cool story bro, but I'm not Devil--LMAO!!
  • jpake1
Ah, yeah. Well whatever your name is then.

    Gotta win the ring.

He is arguably going to be the best player to play the game, but he needs some hardware. He also needs to show that leadership ability on Thursday.

YOU MEAN PEOPLE THINK LEBRON IS GOOD AT BASKETBALL?

Good thing you posted this. It was up for debate until you settled this. Another quality post from a quality poster.
