Nope..dwccrew wrote: Stern shouldn't be commenting on things like this.
But what he says probably has some merit. If Lebron stays in Cleveland, life around the league will stay mostly normal. New York, NJ, Chicago, etc will sign other players and probably waste millions and the fanbases will get over the fact that they didn't get Lebron pretty quickly. However, if Lebron leaves Cleveland... the whole city will probably explode. The franchise will be in serious danger. Just try and imagine a post-Lebron world in Cleveland -

slightly better than before lebron came to cleveland? i mean, it seems like they have brought in better players since he got here to build a team around him. so it wouldnt be that terrible. would the city explode, well yeah, but thats because the browns and indians also suck.jordo212000 wrote:

pkebkerI think what he meant was not necessarilly that he wants Lebron to stay, but that the system is designed for him to stay. He set up this system for teams to be able to keep their players, so teams in city's that players typically don't want to play in, Milwuakee, Minnesota, Cleveland, etc., can keep their players. I think he just wants the system to work.

The team would be bad. I am just going to say they don't sign anybody to replace him... their lineup:Glory Days wrote: slightly better than before lebron came to cleveland? i mean, it seems like they have brought in better players since he got here to build a team around him. so it wouldnt be that terrible. would the city explode, well yeah, but thats because the browns and indians also suck.
PG. Mo Williams
SG. Parker/Delonte West
SF. Jamario Moon/Jawad Williams/Danny Green
PF. Jamison/Hickson/Varejao
C. Varejao/ Powe/ Hickson/ Shaq? Z?
That is a 15-20 win team. -
Big Red MonsterShaq will retire if LeBron leaves

lhslep134The whole structure of most professional sports was originally designed for the owners to be able to keep their best players, and it worked up until free agency (unless of course you needed the money so you'd sell your best player, cough cough Babe Ruth).
I like the fact that Stern has set up free agency so that the players current team can offer the most money, but I don't think the salary is what Lebron's decision will be based off of. Unfortunately it's not far fetched to see him leaving for a environment he'd enjoy more. -

That's too dramatic. I mean, Cleveland was a 17 win team before he got there(with Smush Parker and Chris Mihm as part of the core), so it's only 15-20 with these guys?jordo212000 wrote:

And in case anyone forgets, most of Cleveland's big runs to get back in both games was with LBJ on the pine. -
jordo212000The NBA/Eastern conference is much better now then it was back then.
How many games were the Wizards going to win with Jamison, Butler, and Haywood after Arenas was suspended? (Serious question) It wasn't many. Now subtract Butler and Haywood and add Moon and Varejao.
Who is the scorer on the 2011 Cavs? Is it Mo Williams? Is it Jamison? When they play Kobe who is going to keep them in it? -
jpake1That team would have double the amount of victories.
