Mets at Reds, game 1

mhs95_06Heisey in for Bruce against the lefty Perez- three right handed outfielders:
Drew Stubbs 8
Brandon Phillips 4
Joey Votto 3
Scott Rolen 5
Jonny Gomes 7
Orlando Cabrera 6
Chris Heisey 9
Ramon Hernandez 2
Mike Leake 1 -
se-alumLookin' forward to see what Heisey can do.
-
Azubuike24Bruce has a .905 OPS against lefties this year and is arguably the teams best hitter.
Dusty benches him in favor of a guy playing in his first ever game and the starting center-fielder is hitting .179. -
wildcats20Looks like there is all of 500 people there. GABP is starting to look more and more like the Jake every game.
-
mhs95_06Reyes line drive unassisted double play to Votto gets Leake out of the 1st on 9 pitches.
-
wildcats20Stubbs with a bomb out to left...1-0 Red Legs
-
wildcats20Jesus BP if you actually sprint down the line, that is a base hit.
-
mhs95_06Both halves of the 1st end in DPs. Looks like Rolen is keeping up clean-up propensity for double plays that BP had.
-
wildcats20Great play, of course, from Rolen down at third.
-
wildcats20Good lord
-
mhs95_06Lead is gone just like that, precipitated by Stubbs 2 base error. So the score is Stubbs 1, Stubbs 1.
-
wildcats20OK David Wright, I see you.
-
BigAppleBuckeyeWe are starting Oliver Perez, pound for pound the worst pitcher in MLB. I like your chances Reds fans ... Although after watching Johan Santana give up 10 ER last night, weirder things have happened.
-
mhs95_06Leake does an excellent job pitching out of the 3rd inning after he hung a breaking ball right down the middle for a 1-out double to the lead-off hitter.

wildcats20lol read it and didn't even catch it.
-
mhs95_06
Maybe I should have said a 1-out double to the top of the order hitter. Leake thru 6 with no ER and 76 pitches. 6th will be pivotal for Leake as the top of the order hitter leads off.Laley23 wrote:

mhs95_06Why is Hernandez complaining about that obvious called strike 3?
-
mhs95_06We need Stubbs to mis-hit the ball more often. Castillo should have charged harder, ran into Leake and got a baserunner's interference call! He wasn't going to get Stubbs.
-
wildcats20First and second for BP, YOU HAVE TO PRODUCE something here.
-
mhs95_06Leake has two good at bats totaling 15 pitches. Atought play grounder in the hole to the SS, and then the walk.
-
mhs95_06Excellent basrunning by Leake - getting in the best postion possible in case Phillips bloop falls in, and yet just get back when he catches, and almost got to advance on an erroneous throw that nearly got away.
-
wildcats20There ya go Joey
-
mhs95_06Great AB by Votto to get the lead run in. He is settling in now. The last pitch before the hit he was able to foul off on a pitch he would have K'd on last week.
-
mhs95_06Many of the Reds right handed batters, not Leake, trying to do too much with Perez' offerings.
