There were so many awesome background stories to Secretariat winning the triple crown.

Just off the top of my head
    1) Hadn't been done in 25 years
    2) He broke race records for the Belmont and Kentucky Derby, records that still hold stand today. So when people say, well he only ran against 4 horses, you can say this.
    3) He was a 1:10 favorite..so most people who won money betting on him kept their ticket as a souvenir instead of cashing out (you put $100 bucks on him, you won 10 dollars lol). There are over 5000 winning tickets today, that would sell for a lot more than 1:10.

A movie is in the process of filming about Secretariat..with Diane Lane and John Malkovich staring.

This photo will never die. Steve Bartman has become infamous in Chitown and around the US. ESPN named it the #1 sports event in Chicago in the last decade, above the Bears' Super Bowl run and the White Sox winning the WS. I was around a bunch of people when it happened and there was a mixture of laughter, shock, and sheer amazement.

The Steve Bartman "incident" epitomizes Cubs fans for me. It is the quintessential reasoning why Cubs fans will never be blessed with a World Series Title.

Juice or not, they electrified baseball.

Regardless of which side you're on, they'll show this picture in 50 years and we'll still be talking about two of the best that ever did it. I like the first one the best but they're both sweet. In both pictures they're both doing the exact same thing.

Steve Bartman can suck a dick. We were going to the Series and that fucker had to grab the ball. (I know, I know. Still had Game 7)

The futility of the Cubs is tempered a bit for me due to the annoying ass Reds fans having to deal with Dusty. If Ohio State stopped accepting douchebags from Cinci that think the Bengals, Reds, and Bearcats are the greatest things since sliced bread my last four years here would have gone from being a 15 on a scale of 10 to a 25.

I'll add this as well. I do find it amazing because I really, really, thought between the time it left his hand until the time it clanked that it was going in.
