Reds @ Astros - Get the Brooms Ready
-
wildcats20Going for the sweep tonight with Bronson on the hill taking on Roy Oswalt aka "The Reds Killer."
Lineup:
1. C. Dickerson, CF
2. B. Phillips, 2B
3. J. Votto, 1B
4. S. Rolen, 3B
5. J. Bruce, RF
6. O. Cabrera, SS
7. L. Nix, LF
8. R. Hanigan, C
9. B. Arroyo, P
I'm OK with it. -
jordo212000Dickerson drives me crazy. Just struck out again.
-
wildcats20And got pulled. Stubbs in.
-
mhs95_06Reds have been doing well getting runners in scoring position, then having pathetic at bats after. I'm afraid their opportunity to jump ahead on the scoreboard has passed and the Astros will break through and get a working margin for Oswalt.
-
mhs95_06I'm betting Dickerson will be on the DL before tomorrow's game. He already had his wrist wrapped. He probably hurt it on one of his ill advised head first slides! Whoever the Reds call-up will probably be another K machine.
-
mhs95_06Reds have a good opportunity again in the 5th. Can they get get any runs?
-
mhs95_06Yes, a non RBI run on a DP grounder. Nevertheless it is still a small 1-0 lead.
-
jordo212000Yeah I read somewhere Dickerson is headed back to Cincy for a MRI. Definitely sounds like he is bound for the DL
-
wildcats20^^Yup.
After a long 1st, Bronson has really, really settled down. -
jordo212000If Dickerson gets put on the DL, who gets called up? Juan Francisco?
-
mhs95_06Arroyo uses risky strategy, pitching around Berkman, walking him and moving the tying run to 2B with one out. The strategy works perfectly as Feliz hits into a 6-4-3 inning ending DP.
-
wildcats20Big time blown call there.
-
mhs95_06I think the ump got it right on Arroyo's bid for a lead-off hit. The replay was poor!
-
wildcats20Ball wasn't even in his glove when Bronson was hitting the base, it was a bad call.
Followed by a pretty good AB by Stubbs. I thought he was gonna bite on the 2-2 breaking ball. -
wildcats20But in the long run it doesn't matter, BP is going to ground out.
-
wildcats20Like I said, BP with a ground ball.
And Votto with a blast to left, 3-0 Reds -
Ironman92The Stros have some horrible plate approaches versus Arroyo.....when teams consistently try to pull his off speed stuff......he's tough to beat.
Stros lineup is rough. Carlos Lee with 5 RBI? Berkman not hitting much.......Towles is killing Oswalt.....or OZ walt as Dusty would say. -
mhs95_06Phillips failure to hustle to 1B assured that Stubbs could not take 3rd by allowing Feliz to double look Stubbs back plus get a two step shorter throw across to first!
-
wildcats20^^I agree.
-
mhs95_06Votto with a big hit taking the pitch to the short porch in left for a three run lead, allowing Arroyo to breathe a little easier in the 7th, and hopefully the 8th also.
-
wildcats20And of course.
3-1 Reds -
mhs95_06Didn't take long for one of those 3 runs of lead to get eaten - two pitches!
-
mhs95_06There's two runs and the tying one is halfway around!
-
mhs95_06Can Herrera strand his inherited tying run?
-
wildcats20Nice outing for Bronson, would have liked it to end a little better.
