Best Bullpen Ever?
-
darbypitcher22I'd have to make an argument for the '96 Yankees... the game was over after the 7th inning with Jeff Nelson, Mariano Rivera, and then John Wettland closing games out....
what thinks you? -
BigAppleBuckeyeThat early 90s Reds bullpen of Myers, Dibble and Charlton was pretty nasty as well.
In 1986, the Mets had Roger McDowell, Randy Myers, Jesse Orosco and Rich Aguilera (who also started) in their pen, not too shabby. -
norwalkThe Nasty Boys..........

se-alumNasty Boys were the best I've seen. They basically turned games in which the Reds had the lead into 6 inning games. In 1990, the 3 combined for 351 strikeouts!

HereticMuch like the best rotation of all time thread, I'm going with this year's Pirates. Last night, they could have said, "Well, after another great performance by our starter, we're only going to lose 8-3 to Milwaukee...", but instead, Dotel and Donnelly were like, "Fuck dat weak sauce!!! Let's show 'em how it's really done!" and promptly surrendered NINE MORE DAMN RUNS in the eighth inning.
You just don't get any better than that!
Uh...these "best ever" threads do include Bizarro World "bests", too, don't they? Jebus...this year might be the one this team induces me to go Budd Dwyer on an unsuspecting public. -
darbypitcher22^^^^^
you had me rolling on Dotel and Donnelly lol
