Even his teammates think he is a scumbag.

ptown_trojans_1Several friends I have that went to Miami and knew him at Findlay say the same thing. Guy is a jerk. But, a hell of a football player.

BR1986FBRoethlisberger should feel fortunate that Najeh Davenport only threw him under the bus and didn't leave a "Tootsie Roll" in his locker.

I was thinking about this the other day. There is a lot of partying that goes on and off campus and we all know Miami U. is a mecca for campus cuties. Big Ben was a legend when he was on campus there. I am surpised we have not heard any stores of him being aggressive with me young ladies while he was there.ptown_trojans_1 wrote: Several friends I have that went to Miami and knew him at Findlay say the same thing. Hah hah hah...that's what I was thinking. Well, along with, "Najeh's got all sorts of room to talk when it comes to character."BR1986FB wrote: Roethlisberger should feel fortunate that Najeh Davenport only threw him under the bus and didn't leave a "Tootsie Roll" in his locker. -

DeyDurkie5big ben is a turd, simple as that

You would think he would learn his lesson after stories like that.• Someone identified only as "a close friend of a Steelers player" said that the reason Roethlisberger had a bodyguard was because of an incident where a man put a gun to Roethlisberger's head because Roethlisberger was involved with the man's girlfriend -
BR1986FBSeriously, though. I did read this morning that there is some kind of "speculation/theory" going around that his behavior could be tied to concussions/the motorcycle accident.

LJoh Najeh... those who live in glass houses
I still believe that Ben probably is a douche though.Prior to entering the NFL, Davenport allegedly broke into the dorm room of a Barry University woman, pulled down his pants and defecated in a laundry basket on April 1, 2002.[5]In a plea bargain, his felony charge of second-degree burglary and misdemeanor count of criminal mischief were dropped in exchange for his completing 100 hours of community service.[6]
After joining the Packers, Davenport was given the nickname "Deuce". With the Steelers, Davenport was given the nicknames "Dookie"[7]and "The Dump Truck,"[8]all are plays on the Barry University incident.
Davenport was charged in Cleveland with domestic violence, child endangering, and unlawful restraint in October 2007 an incident involving the mother of his five-year-old son. He entered a plea of not guilty days later and the case went to trial on April 4, 2008.[9] After a four-day trial, an eight-member jury spent three and a half hours deliberating before finding Davenport not guilty of all counts.[10] -

"Davenport was in the Miami Shores area, visiting friends near Barry University, on the night the laundry basket was abused"

Possibly...although a lot of people have said he's been kind of douchy for far longer of a period than that (ie: Post #2, which is far from the first post where it's been said that he's not universally loved in his hometown or college). Although, the brain trauma he's had over the years could affect his behavior to a lesser degree, such as whittling away at any sense of self-control in certain situations.BR1986FB wrote: Seriously, though. If that is the case, one would consider it a good idea for the team to implement a "No drinking. Period." clause in his contract. If his brain is getting loopy and leading to bad decisions, there's no reason he should be adding alcohol to that. -
stroupsDavenport looked like he was stoned to the bejesus when he was telling this story on ESPN this morning.

Glory Daysdo you think Tiger could use that exuse also? his crash looked pretty rough....oh wait, it happend after the cheating.

But it would make sense as to why there havent been any assault allegations from them, only a creeper status as compared to now.Heretic wrote:

NonWhat's interesting, though, is that Ben seems like a good teammate during the games.
He doesn't get down on his receivers like you see with a Jay Cutler, for example. When the offense is struggling, he still has a good attitude and believe they can do it. He publicly always praises the offensive line even after a game where he gets sacked several times and has to make a lot of the plays by running for his life.
I do think it's true. He has an arrogant personality and his teammates don't like him but it doesn't carry over to the field.
This has been going on since at least 2007 because the Steelers picked James Harrison as the MVP that year when Ben should've won it. He had 32 TD passes and only 11 interceptions and the defense struggled at the end of the year. That showed the locker room really wasn't on his side.
But he still came back in 2008 and did his part on the field, leading some big fourth quarter comebacks, and winning the Super Bowl. And last year he had his best statistical season overall. -

agreed, jay cutler has never thrown an uncatchable ball. ever. hence the 20 interceptions he through last year. -

Ya know, we've been REAL kind to you Yinzers on here. Wouldn't take much to turn your Steeler thread into a shitstorm just like you've done with the Browns thread. THINK before you post, dickhead. This post is directed specifically at YOU, not respectful Steeler posters.Al Capone wrote: You got 3 Cleveland references in their too. Browns, broken, and shit. -
