Weekend boxing 4/24

  • Hulk Smash
By far the best match up this weekend is the Showtime Super Six fight.

    Mikkel Kessler(42-2) vs Carl Froch(26-0)
Kessler started this tournament as the favorite then got dominated in the first round by Andre Ward, this is a must win fight for him.
Froch squeaked out a split-decision over Andre Dirrell in the first round.
Anybody who doesn't have Showtime and is looking for a stream shouldn't have any trouble finding this one, it is being aired in a lot of countries.

The Super Six has been great so far.
In four fights two unbeaten records have been erased, we've seen a spectacular KO, a huge upset, a controversial decision and a DQ.
Kessler is a star in Denmark and will have a large crowd in his corner........................................................................a crowd that will be silent when Froch comes from behind to stop him...................Froch TKO 10.
Kessler is the better technical boxer but Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell were too and none of them could beat Froch.

    HBO fights tomorrow.
    Cris Arreolla(28-1) vs Tomasz Adamek(40-1)
    Alfredo Angulo(17-1) vs Joel Julio(35-3)

If Arreola and Angulo want to continue fighting on HBO they have to win tomorrow and neither is facing an easy opponent.
Angulo/Julio should be a great fight.

Arreola hit the scales at 250 whille Adamek was 217.
I would like to see the winner of this one fight David Haye, I don't think either of them can beat Haye but it would be a great fight and the heavyweights don't produce many of those anymore.

Froch and Kessler waged a "fight of the year" type war in Denmark today.
