Dodgers at Reds, game 3
-
mhs95_06Can Mike Leake get the first win for a Reds starter? He has pitched pretty well, but didn't face the heavy hitting Cards and Marlins. In the first two games, the Dodgers have hit the best of anyone against the Reds so it will be a good test for the pro-ball rookie Leake.

jordo212000I won't be watching tonight. We've got the Cavs on the tv (roommate is a Cavs fan) and I've got the NFL draft going on my laptop
-
mhs95_06Leake goes 7 innings again and gets the first Reds win for a stater, and the first Reds win that game winning run wasn't scored in their last at bat.

daveIt's nice to see some of the bats heating up. Leake is getting through with smoke and mirrors so far but I'll take it, eventually that WHIP will catch up to him like it did with Cueto.

Mooney44CardsLeake is getting ground ball outs, which is huge at GABP. I think he'll be fine. Will he be outstanding all year? Probably not, he's young. But he reminds me of Arroyo in his ease throwing the baseball. Hopefully that means he can eat up innings all year. And tonight proved that with good (not great) pitching, the Reds will be in good shape this year. But if we continue to get terrible starts from our rotation and continue to overtax the bullpen as well as put unneccessary pressure on them, this season will implode by mid-May.
Great game tonight across the board. Dusty finally dropped Stubbs down in the order and the kid comes up with 2 hits and an RBI. Hanigan continues to produce when he plays. Bruce showed a little plate discipline in his 3rd AB and showed he learned something from the first 2. Votto continues to be Votto, and Rolen continues to be Rolen. OCab came up huge tonight, and spots 1-8 in the order had at least one hit. If the rest of the rotation gets their heads out of their asses, maybe this team can win some more games just like they did tonight. -
Swamp FoxAnytime the Dodgers lose, I'm happy. It's even better when the Reds get it done.
-
jordo2120002 out of 3 from the Dodgers was a nice a surprise. I'm still not sure how they pulled this off after I watched them play Pittsburgh earlier this week.

davenice post mooney, agree with all of it. BP also went opposite field again tonight which is another good sign.
That swing by bruce was crazy, can't believe he actually cocked back and paused like that before unloading. -
Mooney44CardsI actually got up to pee when Padilla got into his wind up, when I got back I was able to brew a pot of coffee, sit down, have a sip, and look up right in time to see Jay take the pitch out of the park.
