sonofsamNot just because I am a Pens fan, but who else thinks this guy is a total douche bag that is getting traded year after year trying to get on a Stanley Cup winning team? Nothing like getting on your knees and making a complete idiot of yourself...
-
slingshot4everUmm, get a clue bud. Who exactly traded him?
He signed with both the Red Wings and Blackhawks as a free agent. Why shouldn't a free agent look for the best situation availbale for them to try and win a title in their mind????? -
slingshot4everHe also signed a 12 yr deal with the Blackhawks.
-
Strapping Young LadIf you're waiting for SOS to get a clue, you'll be waiting longer than Hossa's been waiting for the Cup.
-
slingshot4everI think he is with the right team to win that cup. Chicago will be very good for at least the next 7 years. Toews, Kane, and Hossa are signed to 7, 7, and 12 year deals respectively.
-
Strapping Young LadYeah, what douchebag would want to play with that kind of talent?!?!??! I guess he had no choice since he was traded and all.
-
sonofsam
You forget that he asked for a trade... He also begged the Red Wings to take him as he though that was his best chance to win a Stanley Cup. He had a one year deal and done there so why not beg Chicago for an opportunity? He got it and he will be with them for a while. I do have a clue, but Hossa is an idiot. he is right where he needs to be. eventually he will get a cup with the Hawks, but not this year and not in the hear future.slingshot4ever wrote: Umm, get a clue bud. Strap-on, I thought I told you to pay attention to your LeSabres... You take an awful strange liking into the Penguin fanbase... Why is that? Too many home games? Wanna go cry on another thread about it? -

He wasn't traded, he signed with the Hawks. He is a douche of a player, but a damn good one. He has a good game tonight in the Hawks win and is on the team that is favored out of the West. -
slingshot4ever
Check your original post, you said he was traded year after year. He was never traded. Your post is completely false which is what I was responding to. Do you think he is the only player who has ever asked to be traded.? That is like any other person looking for a new place to work. Does it make me a douchebag if I apply for a job at another company because I am not happy with my current company? You sir, are a joke.sonofsam wrote:

Despite a reported five-year contract offer worth $7 million annually from the Penguins in attempts to retain his services, on July 1, 2008, Hossa signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings worth $7.45 million. Hossa had also reportedly turned down a multi-year offer from the Edmonton Oilers worth at least $9 million per season.[16] Hossa explained that he opted for the shorter-term contract in hopes of a better opportunity to win a Stanley Cup with the Red Wings.
Bad choice of words... I should have said that he skipped town to jump on the bandwagon.
He's just a born loser. -

Again, he was 1 game away from winning the cup, so the Wings deal was not that bad a deal. He got more money, and was on the favorite to win the cup the next year. He was also smart, very smart to avoid the Oilers. Now, he is on the favorite team to win the West.sonofsam wrote:

He's been traded twice, neither of which was due to anything that he'd done. One was the deal that brought Heatley to Ottawa, the other was the "Let's get something for you before you become a UFA" to Pittsburgh.sonofsam wrote: Not just because I am a Pens fan, but who else thinks this guy is a total douche bag that is getting traded year after year trying to get on a Stanley Cup winning team? He most certainly did not ask for a trade to Pittsburgh, he most certainly did not beg Detroit to take him, and he took a one-year deal because he was anticipating an increase in the salary cap in a weak UFA year that would net him a sizable deal.sonofsam wrote: You forget that he asked for a trade... There's no such thing as a born loser, with the possible exception of the largely intoxicated Penguins fanbase that congealed in a gutter sometime in 2005 that collectively curses the name of someone who was there for exactly three months as if he was a corrupt politician.sonofsam wrote: You are correct about the trade...

HereticHey, him leaving the Pens to win a Cup in Detroit worked out great for him! He got the joy of being #2 for two years in a row. I want it to be three.
My favorite scenarios for the finals:
1. Pittsburgh beats Chicago.
2. Pittsburgh beats one of the other 7 West teams.
3. Any of the other 7 East teams beats Chicago.
I want him to be the real-life version of the ancient Greek religion's Tantalus -- with that sumptuous feast so close...but so far away. -

KnightXC1^^ Since you are totally clueless and simply have a grudge against the guy, no one is taking anything you say seriously. Everything you said has been disproven and you continue to sound dumb. He never begged the Wings to take him, nor the Hawks. He is a very good player and will be for the forseeable future with the Hawks.
Born losers don't score 40 goals a year or go to the Finals 2 years in a row. -

Bitter? What could I possibly be bitter about? I don't know Marian Hossa, I've never met him, and I don't care if I ever do. I have no vested interest in anything he does unless he cuts me a check for several hundred thousand dollars.sonofsam wrote: You sound a little bitter... You presented some rambling diatribe against a player whose names you misspelled and packed it full of garbage for which the term "lies" doesn't go far enough and attempted to pass it off as fact. -

bulldog8Anyone with any hockey knowledge at all knows that Hossa is a valuable player who is capable of big things on the ice - I know a lot of teams that would gladly have his services. You, on the other hand, have displayed your ignorance with the stupid comments you've made.
-
rock_knutneYes, Hossa was acquired as a FA in Pittsburgh and Detroit. That said, he's a backstabber and got what he deserved last year when the Pens defeated Detroit for the Stanley Cup. He chose Detroit over Pittsburgh because he thought he had a better chance to win a title, he did this in a underhanded manner as he totally blew off Ray Shero in the final hours, in fact playing the Pens like a piano in the process. Pittsburgh was ready to give him "Crosby/Malkin like" money. IMO, he's lucky he got a huge contract from Chicago because he stunk it up in the finals last year.
-
KnightXC1^^ Get over it already! He didn't backstab the Penguins at all or play them in any way. They offered him more money, he turned it down. That's not backstabbing. He left a good team and thought he had a better chance in Detroit and was 1 game away from being right. No Detroit fan holds anything against him for going to the Hawks after a year yet Pens fans continue to be upset over a guy who played there for a season and then decided to leave. That's sports, get over it. Obviously the money doesn't mean that much to him since he took less to play in Detroit last year so your argument is mute. And he was hurt last year in the finals which is why he had surgery about 5 days after the series ended.
