NFL vs World Series
-
thavoiceRead in USAToday that the NFL may end up stop playing nice and not having a Sunday Night Game one that first Sunday of the WS. They typically dont have a game to compete with the MLB and it was just a gentelman's agreement.
But maybe not any longer......
COUld be interesting.
What would you watch?
Think last year it woulda been game 4 of the WS...
I think unless my fav baseball team was playing, The Reds, that I would be watching the NFL game much, much more than the WS game.
What say you? -
LJWell it's not the NFL saying that, the Sunday night game is a Flex game scheduled by NBC and NBC alone. It's NBC claiming that they will do it, and the NFL will probably say "no way" seeing as how FOX pays the NFL way more money than NBC.
-
thavoice^^I didnt see that in the article.
but my comprehension skills are that of a 2 year old. -
LJ
It probably doesn't, I heard it on the radio last night.thavoice wrote: ^^I didnt see that in the article.

NonI think it's just a matter of flipping back and forth.
You can watch 4-5 football plays in between one pitch. -
THE4RINGZNFL by far for me. I am a casual MLB fan, but live for the NFL. No brainer here.

It really wouldnt be just an NBC thing...it would have to be an NFL thing to get this done. NFL would win the ratings war...no doubt. -
LJ
Well of course the NFL would have to approve it, but the rumblings are coming from inside NBC, not the NFL. Like I said, FOX pays the NFL a lot more money than NBC does so the NFL would likely say "no way".thavoice wrote: http://www.usatoday.com/SPORTS/usaedition/2010-04-15-eyeopener15_ST_U.htm?csp=34

ts1227If Goodell gets a chance to be an enormous dick, you know he's going to be ALL OVER IT.
Consider this as good as done. -
LJ
Except the fact that Fox pays the NFL the most moneyts1227 wrote: If Goodell gets a chance to be an enormous dick, you know he's going to be ALL OVER IT.

Hulk SmashDVR one while watching the other should be an option in the poll.
-
CinciX12I'd be watching the World Series.
-
FabioOnly way I choose the WS is if the Cubs and/or the Indians are in the game.

Well with the exception of 1997. What happened that year again Indian fans? I kid.. -
Fabio
lol unfortunately, I can't argue with you! I always seem to pick the teams that somehow epically fail when they are one step away.CinciX12 wrote:

MulvaIt would depend on who was playing in both games.
-
darbypitcher22I'm watching the World Series
-
Fly4FunSo does Fox pay the NFL more than NBC and how would this affect the NFL's decision? Anyone know?
-
Laley23The World Series, unless the Colts are in the SNF game and my team isnt in the WS. If both teams are playing, WS...if neither teams are playing WS.
Id much rather watch a championship setting than a regular season NFL game.
