Browns say they have talked to Rams about #1 pick

  • Non
I'm just guessing on that. Not sure if it will be enough.

Washington would have to be in a position where they're not sold on anyone in particular. They may want Dez Bryant at No. 7 to go with McNabb.

Cleveland doesn't want to get handcuffed at No. 7.

Let's say Berry goes at No. 5 to Kansas City.

    Dez Bryant? feh.

    Joe Haden? ehh..maybe

Clausen? Holmgren wishes he liked him more.

None of those picks offer the same punch as getting Berry IMO

I agree with that. I wonder if they would reach for Earl Thomas or try to trade back and then nab him.

Yeah I think that would be an option.

I like Earl Thomas. He could end up being an impact player and then the Browns would get another draft pick rather than give one up.

Earl Thomas is my sleeper favorite pick and I wouldn't be disappointed to trade down and nab him along with another pick.
  • pkebker
hopefully if they trade down, they don't get raped like they did last year

They may value Thomas enough to take him at 7.

That is kinda what I keep hearing. I have also heard rumors of dropping back for Taylor Mays...so much speculation, who the hell knows.

They do. There's not much drop off between him and Berry.

I didn't realize until I made the appointment. POS dentist doesn't drill teeth on Saturday's or after 3pm on Friday and that date was the soonest he had. Sooooo....depending on who we select (Clausen, Odrick?), I could be in pain in more ways than one. :(

C'mon Wes? You know who you are talking to. I just caught "Porky's" on Beta. I'm not that technically astute. :D
  • wes_mantooth
My bad...and actually I watched Porky's and Revenge of the Nerds like 3 days ago....still awesome as ever.

Classics! I saw you post about Revenge on Facebook. Hopefully your new girlfriend had a good time. :D

If you want to pm me your number, I'll end a text your way when we pick.

Yea I have a night class that lasts until 8pm on draft day- sucks!

I've actually heard reports about the Redskins liking Trent Williams the best of all the O-Line since he fits into Shanahan's zone blocking scheme. If thats the case, they may look to trade down since there aren't any teams within the top 8 that wouldn't go for him.

I know this may be against the grain, but I think I like the idea better of trading down for some more picks and get Thomas over getting just Berry. Don't get me wrong, Eric Berry is my favorite player for Cleveland, but if we can trade down, get a second or even another 3rd round pick PLUS Earl Thomas (who quite a few have said is a better prospect than Berry) then I wouldn't complain.

My phone doesn't get texts but my girlfriend said she can add it on my phone. As soon as I get it I'll pm you.

Wes will laugh at this but I've only sent 3 texts in my life from a previous phone. I only use my cell once a day to call my girlfriend on my hour drive home.

It's not a bad thought at all. The "hot" spot will be Clausen, IMO. If Buffalo thinks Oakland will take him or JAX thinks Buffalo will take him I think we could be in business.

I would not be surprised if they are talking to the Rams about the first pick of the SECOND round targeting Colt McCoy.

Ahhh, nice. Never really thought about that.

    This I could see happening.

This new aged technology is pretty sweet BR.

Thomas is more of a cover safety and ballhawk.

Berry is bigger and more physical than Thomas.

Thomas is a good tackler, but just in the sense that he makes the tackle. Berry probably will lay more of the jacked up hits.
