NBA Free Agency Busts

Hey, I was 16-16 with LBJ out the last whole week, but still lost the championship;-(

It wouldn't have been good enough for great success, but I think he's loyal enough and wrongfully confident enough that he would have stayed.

I suppose thats the bitch about having LBJ in fantasy...the end of the season kills you when it matters most.

It's easy to say Gordon when the guy missed 30 games being hurt. Granted he didn't shoot well all year but to say the worst free agent of all time is stretching just a bit. Pistons are a playoff team without about 150 combined games missed between all of their key guys and I will stand by that.

Villeneuva comes to mind much quicker as does Turkoglu. Hedo was the big name guy last year and couldn't do a thing most of the year to keep the Raptors in the playoffs in a bad conference.

Hedo is not a bust IMO. He doesn't fit with that team nearly as well and they have used him wrong.

Minutes are down 6 per game.
FGA are down 4 a game.
Shooting % is pretty much the same.
    3PT % is up.
RPG and APG are pretty damn close even with the fewer minutes.

He's played pretty much as well as he did last year, he's down on minutes and touches.

Nor are we saying he got the contract from the Spurs. The Spurs are paying him though to produce poorly though. That's why its a horrible deal. I thought he would put the Spurs over the top, unfortunately, they aren't the Spurs of the past. They still could give Dallas a run though.

I don't think Richard Jefferson can be blamed. He wasn't even a FA was he? I thought the Spurs traded Bruce Bowen for him?

Either way, the Spurs TRIED to make him into something he's not. They wanted him to initiate and penetrate the defense, while creating his own shots.. That's NOT what he is. He THRIVED in New Jersey playing alongside J-Kidd because Kidd created for him. RJ is a finisher, not an initiator..

A lot of these guys could be voted for, but honestly, we all know the Ben Gordon and Charlie V signings by Detroit were ass to begin with...

VC has done well with Orlando towards the end of the season, but I don't think that keeps up.. He also had some terrible months with them as well..

To me, it HAS to be Sheed. He comes to Boston predicting 72 wins and the National media eats it up.. For some reason, they thought the Sheed addition made Boston the BEST team in the NBA, and it wasn't even close. I remember hearing on ESPN that the Sheed signing was BIGGER than Cleveland getting Shaq.. I mean seriously, it was stuff that made me say "WTF?"

Of course, ESPN is the same company who just had Miss Cleo on Sportscenter the other day drawing a card to see if LeBron would stay or go.. Of course she said "He'll be moving"... smh.

I think he is giving them more than what the combo of Bruce Bowen/Michael Finley would have given them... which is what they had before.

LOL, I mean, she predicted he was going to the Wizards. It was clearly a pretty big joke. I think they were just mocking the whole thing.

LMAO! I didn't actually see it, but my dude texted me with the headline of "This is why I stopped watching ESPN outside of games:"

Pretty hilarious, too bad I missed it though.. I'm like, didn't she get busted for being a fraud? Complete with fake accent and everything? haha...

Yeah it was pretty ridiculous that they even had her on there in the first place. But it was on Sportsnation, a pretty goofy show anyways. I laughed when she picked the Wizards, the look on her face and the way she said it was almost as if to say "how the fuck should I know?" lol
