The Marlins cheerleaders or wahtever they are came up to the booth and sang happy birthday to him.

Homer Bailey is NOT a MLB pitcher

Janish homered with a man on...kinda funny he did that with the argument on here about him lol

After six one run innings in the game, the Reds put up two on the Janish 2 run HR. Hopefully the Reds can make hay against the Marlins bullpen as now they trail only 5-3.

    Lincoln a scoreless inning.

I know right haha. Career home run number 3. Bonds record is as good as Janish's now.

Man, Jay Bruce just looks terrible at the plate. I seem to cringe every time he's at bat.

If Janish hits within 50 points of Cabrera in avg or OBP, he should be the primary shortstop. He is worth at least that much more above Cabrera on defense!

I said this during a ST game, but does anyone else think Jay put on 15-20 lbs in the off-season?? He just looks fat to me.

That's the problem, he can't. Why do you think tonight was the first time he has seen any kind of regular action. I mean Cairo sucks a big one at the plate and he is typically one of the first pinch hitters each night.

Cabrera's career average is .274 with a .321 OBP (the OBP isn't great), but he does have a little pop too.

As I said earlier, Janish has an avg. of .205 with a .290 OBP.

His glove may better than Cabrera's but it isn't significantly better to the point that he should be the primary guy.

His brain seemed like it was working like it was surrounded with fat on that baserunning play where he wasn't paying attention. The one when he went from 1st to 2nd on Gomes shot to left that drove in Phillips. Instead of rounding 2nd a bit and seeing what happened with the throw home and being ready to take 3rd if it got away, he just stood on 2B and was oblivious to the fact that on the swipe tag attempt the ball came loose and went nearly back to the backstop. Gomes saw it and was yelling, but to no avail. Should have been runners on 2nd and 3rd, rather than 1st and 2nd.

I can't watch the game unfortunately or maybe fortunately, so I didn't see the play you're talking about. But Brucey isn't exactly elite on the base path lol

I beg to differ with that. I think Cabrera looks very shaky in the field.

Eh, I don't man, he has one error so far this season and has never had a season where his fielding percentage was below .959

I haven't noticed his defense as being all that poor, in fact a few times this season he has made some nice plays. Plays I remember seeing Alex Gonzalez botch

I live in Westerville as well and I hate the game is not on FSN here. There is no reason why a Cincinnati Reds baseball game is not being broadcasted in Central Ohio. I understand the Cavs are a great team and everyone is excited about them, but do they really need to be on two stations while we are shut of Reds baseball? I am sure there are enough Reds fans in Central Ohio who would love to watch the game.

His range is poor, and going downhill fast and his arm is much weaker than Janish.

Exactly. I have Insight Digital Cable. I have FSN on 44, 520 and HD on 929(games only not everything). All 3 tonight have the Cavs. I really wish when there are 2 games on like tonight or Jackets and Cavs, that the 2 channels(44 and 520) would show each game. It makes sense and would make me want to stick with Insight.

The weary bullpens weren't charged with any earned runs, or unearned for that matter as the two defenses were pretty good, other than Roleen's error after which he started a double play which had the same result in the end as if he'd have not made the error. The only thing was Hererra allowed one inherited runner to score, Bailey's last earned run. Dusty got about 13 extra pitches out of Homer in the 6th, but three of his four batters faced in the 6th reached base, leaving Hererra with bases loaded and 1 out and facing the tough #2, #3, and #4 batters in the Marlins line-up.
