Darrelle Revis' 2009 season...

  • justincredible
The Ted Ginn thread had me looking at his "stats" from this past season. I hadn't looked at them in a while and completely forgot how ridiculous his season was.

This was in 18 games, going up against the likes of Andre Johnson, TO (x2), OchoCinco (x2), Randy Moss (x2), Roddy White, Marques Colston, Steve Smith, Reggie Wayne, etc.

    Receptions: 46
    Yards: 462
    TD: 2
    INT: 7

My favorite game was against the Panthers. Steve Smith had 1 reception for 5 yards. Revis had 2 INTs and a TD.

    GOAT CB season?

The most yardage given up in a game was to Louis Murphy (who?) of the Raiders, and he only had 58 yards.

He had 2 games of zero receptions. The Chargers, in the playoffs, only managed one reception for -4 yards.

Nine of the 18 games he gave up less than 30 yards.

He had a great season without a doubt. But the jets and all their fans SUCK.

He's sick...him and Cromartie together will be awesome.

    This. Scary awesome.

Revis is the best corner I've seen in my lifetime. Except Deion, but I was young then.

That poor kid gets his picture taken once flipping the bird and has had so many different jerseys photoshopped on him he should be getting roylaty checks.

Best Ive ever seen. But Im only 23 (24 in June) so I didnt get to see Deion in his prime.

Cromartie is solid, but his performance in the playoff game still lingers in my mind (the Facebook profile). He was sandbagging big time in that game. If you can't play hard in a do or die playoff game, how hard are you going to play in week 14 when the game isn't as meaningful?

Cromartie is legit. IMO, there were issues on that SD defense that went beyond what you saw on the field.

Giving up 53 yards passing to Bruce Gradkowski/JaBustus Russell immediately removes Revis from consideration to be best of anything.

Didnt Roddy have one of the TDs? Least I remember watching it and coulda sworn he did (Falcons are my team)

    Nope, just Moss and Ginn.

Only TD in the Jets/Falcons game was to Gonzo, if I remember correctly. Wasn't it a 10-7 game?

Thats who it was you're right. I knew it was a pass ust forgot who to

If you added in pass interference and holding penalties I think the yardage doubles. :) I think he had 2 or 3 PIs in the Bengals playoff game.

deon was a great cover corner , but dont even think about asking him for run support or to tackle anyone.
