    wow...
  • royal_k
    unfucking believable.....
  • Laley23
    Holy shit that was awful.

Holy meltdowns, Batman! Chris Perez just caused Tribe Nation to FONDLY remember Joe Borowski's stint with the club!
  • Footwedge
    We'll get em next year.
  • BR1986FB
What happened? I'm watching the ESPN ticker.

Absolute joke. I just never changes. The Indians are just destined to never have a good bullpen. The closest thing was '07 and even then we had Borowski. What a sad state of affairs.

wild pitch to score the winning run.

Perez walked the tying run in with bases loaded. Then he followed that up by throwing the ball in the dirt against Damon which brought the winning run in from 3rd

No excuse at all for letting that pitch go through....but Perez probably walks him on 4 pitches anyway.

WILDTHING pitching to a minor league catcher this result should not shock anyone.

Yes Go Tigers!! I couldn't even watch the game when Detroit was way down. This team just keeps battling.

Listened on the radio on the way home.....Hamilton was in disbelief. Hate to break it to him, but this is going to be the norm.

Verlander is pitching like you know what and the Tigers got several big plays, a couple of breaks and came from 6 runs down to shell the Indian pen again. I'm happy about the Tiger's fortunes thus far, but things are going way too well. Willis and Bonderman are pitching impressively and the Tiger pen has been close to stellar recently. The Tigs are getting timely hits, good defense and it's all too much for the most ardent Tiger fans to deal with. The Indians are a good team this year and things have a way of evening up over the course of a long season. I think Cleveland deserves some good luck in their next series.

Why is it that when your 'closer' just doesn't seem to have it, the manager stays with him anyway?

You make your own luck....You cannot give up around 20 hits and walk another 8 or 9 and expect to win. Detroit deserved that game...and the sweep.

Never understood that myself. I guess it's supposed to be a "we don't want to further mess with his confidence" thing when, apparently, 5 walks and a few wild pitches haven't already done that.

I never understood it either. Especially for Cleveland, when its not even their permanent closer. Managers should just go out there and say, "Sorry, but you suck today, try harder next time bub."

Exactly. Wedge was notorious for this with Wickman & Borowski. It was as if he'd rather take the loss(es) than mess with their "fragile psyches."

I agree with you and BR. Problem was...who was left? Looks to me that Acta burned up the whole pen.

That's a different story. If you've used up your arsenal you've got to stick with the closer. I just don't get it when there ARE fresh arms and the manager sticks with a sinking ship.

Remember that Yankees game a few years ago (think it was the first homestand of the year) where we had a huge lead and Wickman or Borowski gives up a game winning HR to A-Rod after the closer blew a 5 or 6 run lead? Those are head scratchers.
