LeBron James

chs_redskinsWill LeBron play against Orlando sunday?
-
devil1197I'd say no, it seems that Cleveland is shutting it down.
-
Cleveland BuckHe'll probably play limited minutes in 2 of the last 3. They probably don't want him not playing at all for 2 weeks going into the playoffs.
-
3reppomI would bet not. I see the merits of giving the 1's some run against Orlando and Atlanta, but I wouldn't expect Brown to really get after either game.
-
OhioStatePride2003I think Lebron playing in these last few games depends on how healthy the Cavs are overall. If Jamison and Shaq can return for at least a game, I'd say you'd see our "playoff lineup" for at least one of those games. Like Cleveland Buck said, I don't see a "cold" Lebron heading into the playoffs. I'd think, with Orlando being a rival of sorts, that Lebron will play some on Sunday, but no more than 20-30 minutes.
-
Big Red MonsterHe will play somewhere around 25 minutes.
Treat it like a preseason game. -
hangonsloopyI came across this article on Bill Simmons' twitter. He didn't write it, but the guy who did is a complete joke. He says Lebron is a disgrace and owes the fans a refund for not playing sunday. He mentions, Durantula, Amar'e, Howard, etc. that all are playing out the season. Well duh you idiot, they actually have a REASON to play. They are still fighting for playoff position. I'm sure the fans that went to the game sunday would much rather see him on the bench for that meaningless game than playing to "entertain" them and blowing out his knee and ruining the entire season.

wes_mantoothI do feel sorry for the fans that paid a lot of money for tix for that product, but if they were true fans...they understand that there are bigger things ahead.

SQ_CraziesBill Simmons is becoming more and more of joke to me by the day lately.

He had a pretty good article about the Masters on ESPN.com today, but that's about it.SQ_Crazies wrote: Bill Simmons is becoming more and more of joke to me by the day lately.
As far as whether Bron should play. IMO if a player is healthy then he should play. But I really don't care either way. If he/any player doesn't want to play or a coach decides to sit a healthy player in this type of situation, it's their prerogative. -
hoops23The only people who get mad about LeBron not playing are just LeBron fans, not Cavs fans..
You have to understand this rest is HUGE and there is a much bigger goal than winning these meaningless regular season games.
As Jamal Mashburn said, if you're a fan of a team like the Cavs who may have everything locked up early, DON'T buy tickets to the last couple of games if all you care about is seeing LeBron play 36 minutes. -
SQ_CraziesActually, the article about the Masters is what started this whole thing for me--so I guess just today, he's becoming a bigger joke to me just today.. lol
Totally agree with him or anyone else sitting. When others have sat in the past, there was never much talk about it. Since LeBron is now the headliner of the guys sitting--people gotta talk about it. Might as well get used to it, everything will be a story with LeBron's entire career. You can thank Jordan for that. -

devil1197Here is a hint.
Don't buy tickets at the end of the year when you know that Cleveland will be very good. Their almost guaranteed to sit some guys at the end of the season on a regular basis as long as LeBron is wearing W&G. -

I think this is the right answer.wes_mantooth wrote: I do feel sorry for the fans that paid a lot of money for tix for that product, but if they were true fans...they understand that there are bigger things ahead.
True nitty gritty Cav fans want to see him and the others rest and prepare for the playoffs.
Not everybody looks at it that way though. I do understand why some fans feel cheated in that LBJ didn't play. -
Hb31187Sportscenter brough up a good point...back during those mid 90's badass bulls runs...MJ would suit up all 82 games even after they clinched
-
devil1197
A good point? How is it good, because Jordan played all the games and won titles? I could possibly see that, but the Bulls were the best teams back then. They were going to win if Jordan rested or not.Hb31187 wrote: Sportscenter brough up a good point...back during those mid 90's badass bulls runs...MJ would suit up all 82 games even after they clinched
Every team that is in a position to rest players will do so in every major sport now. -

Did they do a story on Brandon Roy tearing his meniscus at anytime? If LeBron played for the knicks he would play all 82devil1197 wrote:

Are you asking if Sportscenter had a piece on Roy tearing his meniscus, yes they did. Roy needed to play as POR was trying to avoid getting the #8 seed.bases_loaded wrote:

And its pure opinion that LeBron would play all 82 games for the Knicks, which I highly doubt he would. -
bases_loadedI didn't mean to sound like I wasn't agreeing with you. Im surprised ESPN was able to do a story without a New York twist to it and I think its funny that they would even mention players not playing in meaningless games when guys are tearing their knees up the same night.

Hb31187Its a good point because he gave the fans a show, he didnt play the entire game. But fans pay good money to come out and watch him pay( and in turn pay his salary) the least he could do is go out and play a few minutes
-
devil1197
Real fans must understand that these guys need rest.Hb31187 wrote: Its a good point because he gave the fans a show, he didnt play the entire game. But fans pay good money to come out and watch him pay( and in turn pay his salary) the least he could do is go out and play a few minutes
Is it important for them to see LeBron play 20 minutes or watch LeBron and Co. be fresh for the playoffs and win a ring? -
Pick6
you think it is really his decision? If fans are going to cry about not seeing Lebron play, they are not real fans. They should be there to watch the Cavs play. Was anyone bitching when KObe sat out a few games because of his ankle/finger/vagina? no. None of those injuries kept him from playing. Phil just wanted to rest him. If people just want to come to the game to watch Bron, then fuck em, they arent real fans.Hb31187 wrote: Its a good point because he gave the fans a show, he didnt play the entire game. SQ_CraziesThanks a pant load ESPN.
ESPN, making people ask the wrong questions since '79. -
Hb31187If you come to a game to watch your teams franchise player play...you're not a fan...right
