Question for Chatters who have been to Progressive Field
-
Big Red MonsterI will be making the trek up there next Friday for the White Sox game.
I have never been before, where is the best place I can park? -
Laley23Should be some sports right next to the players lot. No one else will be using them
-
daveThere won't be much of a crowd so it doesn't really matter. I used to always park at Tower City but they have jacked up the rates almost every year, it's not worth it now. There are plenty of garages and lots around the stadium, most of them just north.

wildcats20For the 2 Cavs games that Fab4 and I have been to this year we parked in the garage above Fat Fish Blue. If you go into the bar at any time they will validate your parking and it will only be $7.50. It is right around the corner from the Q and the Jake..err Progressive Field.

devil1197Where is Progressive Field?
The Jake has numerous good parking spots, but we always parked where we could easily get out and back to our exit. -
NOL fanthere's a garage that's usually $10 on East 9th between Bolivar and Prospect that I use most time when I drive to a game.
Though usually I park at an RTA station and take the red line train to Tower City and walk the rest of the way. -
THE4RINGZ+1 on taking the train. It's free to park and the fare is like $2.00 now. Round trip. You can get some of the local culture on your ride into Tower City. Grap some less expensive food in the food court and still go watch the game.

more like $2.25. One way. Or $5.00 for an all day passTHE4RINGZ wrote: and the fare is like $2.00 now. Round trip.
Not too long ago it was $1.50 one way and $3.00 for an all day pass. Back then then I would always get an all day pass since it was the same price with only one transaction, but now, to save $0.50 I just pay the one way fare twice. Also, they now have replaced all the manned ticket windows with farecard machines.
I still take the train most of the time, but it's not quite the deal it used to be....especially if you have 4 or more people going. One of the main reasons I go that way is because I really like the sesame chicken at the Chinese place at the Tower City food court and eating there has become a pre game ritual of mine. -
THE4RINGZInflation I guess. I didn't go downtown in the past year or so, but can imagine the fares have increased. I enjoy not having to deal with the traffic. The last Indians game we went to, we had a parking pass for the garage right at the stadium so we parked there, and waited over an hour to get out of the garage. The entire time I was thinking that we could already be south of the airport had we taken the Rapid.

Big Red MonsterWhere could I park that would be as close as possible?
-
THE4RINGZThere is a garage right there at the stadium. You go from the garage right to the gate.
-
hangonsloopyI always park at a lot on the north side of the cemetery. It's only 100 yards or so from the stadium and it was $5 last year.
-
Big Red MonsterIs there anything that stands out concession wise or is it mostly like other stadiums?
-
daveNothing special. They used to have these big ass Labatt Blue's, maybe 30ish ounces for like 7 or 8 bucks but they stopped a couple years ago. Those were only available at a few stands and were a great deal if you drink. Food is typical stadium food, they used to have more choices 10yrs ago but have cut that back some.

Maybe you should bring a wheel chair and a bag full of cheeseburgers for the ride.Big Red Monster wrote: Is there anything that stands out concession wise or is it mostly like other stadiums? -
HitsRusThere is a large garage just north of the stadium behind the bleachers. Also another lot right there also. If you get there early, it shouldn't be a problem parking there. I'm not sure if all tickets have a $10 concession credit loaded into the barcode....I know our season tickets do.... research 'tickets plus' on their website.

the red is where i have parked or known people to park. the yellow is the garage. -
Big Red MonsterIt looks like my seats will be in the 1st row of 469

burt07If you're coming from Marion BRM, Glory Day's red box on the bottom right of that picture is a good spot. Right next to the highway, not a long walk at all to the stadium, usually about $10, don't have to worry about it getting full.

Big Red MonsterThat is the one I am going to use.
