McNabb Traded to Skins

  • Big Red Monster
Did you guys see the report that Philly turned down Alberty Haynesworth for McNabb.

I don't see this being a big deal. I don't think it comes back to haunt the Eagles, and I don't think it does wonders for the Skins.

Yeah I'm gonna call BS on that.

But his contract is pretty bad.

Surprised the Eagles didn't take the Laron Landry package.

I understand why they'd pass on Haynesworth, he's vastly overpaid. I forgot how ridiculous his contract is, when I responded to the Monster.

Yeah, the Skins are stuck with Haynesworth; NO ONE will take on that contract.

I don't think even Jerry Jones would take Albert for a 6pack at the moment. Talk about a guy who took the money and ran.

On another note, Andy Reid is overrated. He allowed his QB to take most of the heat while it was his stupid 80/20 pass to run play calling, no sturdy downhill running back etc. to fall on the shoulders of McNabb, and add to the fact to that they only helped him one year with a wide receiver, besides getting D. Jackson.

Andre Gurode probably wouldn't be pleased if he did. ;)

Looks like McNabb may not have been the only one to force this trade....

I don't blame him. I think the kid can be a good player in this league. Just needs the reps.

I don't know that the Skins take Eric Berry. With Chris Samuels retiring and a well-respected player in McNabb coming in, it's likely that they'll pick up Russell Okung.

McNabb is the most unappreciated pro athlete of the last 30 years. Without him, the Eagles don't come close to a playoff berth, let alone 5 NFC title games. His skills produced a ton of offense for a team whose only NFL-caliber receiver (before Desean Jackson) in 9 years was one year of a pouting Terrell Owens behind an offensive line loaded with mashers who couldn't pass block and running backs whose running skills often left something to be desired.

McNabb was pretty good, everybody knows that. However, I think it was the D Cord and the defenses that helped them be so good. Their defense picked up the slack for an offensive team that didn't know how to run between the tackles. I can agree with him being the most unappreciated in the last 30. Philly always had something against him, even when he was winning.
