NHL Fans -- after a few weeks, has the Olympics helped the sport?
-
BigAppleBuckeyeI see a lot of die-hard NHL fans here, so I was curious: has the riveting U.S. and Canadien runs in the Olympics helped the NHL? I haven't seen any real evidence that it has, but would love to hear your thoughts.

End of LineNO.
Dumbass Bettman wasn't able to cash in on the olympics. -
Strapping Young LadI think the buzz has worn off. This morning John Saunders did a cool monlogue on how if you thought the gold medal game was exciting, the NHL is abou to embark on a two-month-long stretch of games exactly that intense and exciting......

rock_knutneIMO, it's too early to tell. I haven't seen any numbers on ratings as of yet and maybe the playoffs will entice a few people who watched the Olympics.
-
End of LineIf there is Pens/Caps and CHI/SJ conference finals, and better yet Pens/CHI SCF the ratings will be pretty strong.
-
KnightXC1^^ San Jose doesn't draw for hockey. A Det/Chi, Pens/Caps or any combo of those 4 or a Canadian team, the ratings should be good. Throw in an original 6 team like Boston in there too and the ratings should be pretty solid.
Hopefully the buzz stays during the playoffs since it is the best playoffs in all of sports. -
End of Line^^^^True about San Jose.
-
Laley23SJ will lose in the first round again, lol.
-
End of Line^^^^^San Jose will take care of either Calgary or Colorado.
