    Piglets that were saved from fire served for dinner at fire station

    No shortage of irony here, but we're talking livestock - not pets.

    It's no different than if the fire dept had saved the farmer's wheat fields from catching fire, and later he baked bread from that wheat to give to the fire department to show his appreciation.

    If PETA truly cared about local rescue workers putting their lives on the line, they would have donated those vegan sausages to them before this story happened.
