Same here for me right now. Really want to play some of the old golf courses over there, and the scenery looks beautiful.justincredible;1862093 wrote:Scotland is my top destination, and it looks like that's going to happen in the next 5 years. -
GOONx19I think Italy, if I wasn't limited to one city. I would want a mix of the coast and the mountains.

I'm dying to go to Cinque Terre, but I've never been to Italy so I'd also want to see Rome, Venice, etc.GOONx19;1862448 wrote:I think Italy, if I wasn't limited to one city. I would want a mix of the coast and the mountains. -

Cinque Terre is pretty cool, and Florence may be my favorite city in Europe that I've been to (twice now). Venice was kind of forgettable, but in general Italy's culture (and food/ wine/espresso/gelato) makes for a great trip.Fab4Runner;1862489 wrote:I'm dying to go to Cinque Terre, but I've never been to Italy so I'd also want to see Rome, Venice, etc.

Laley23Cinque Terre is great, but don't plan on walking all 5 cities in a day.
Florence is my favorite city in Italy by far. Venice is dirty (but gorgeous) and Rome, outside of the ruins, is just a big city full of tourists and pickpockets. -

This was my opinion exactly. Rome was great to see the sights, but I wouldn't go back. We did the walk between the towns on the trail in Cinque Terre (without stopping in each town, just to do it.) Was beautiful, but not for the faint of heart. Some people love Rome, the same way people love NYC, it just isn't for me.Laley23;1862510 wrote:Cinque Terre is great, but don't plan on walking all 5 cities in a day.

Yeah, I would want to stay in one of the villages for a few days and explore the area.Laley23;1862510 wrote:Cinque Terre is great, but don't plan on walking all 5 cities in a day.

It would just feel wrong to go to Italy and not visit Rome, though, lol. -

Rome is awesome, I'm just saying it can be done in a single long day. 2 at most. Do a hop on hop off bus or whatever.Fab4Runner;1862529 wrote:Yeah, I would want to stay in one of the villages for a few days and explore the area.

supermanIceland and Fiji.
Probably not combining trips. -

I would say 2 days and 1 night, minimum - take the better part of a day to see St. Peters and the Vatican Museum.Laley23;1862544 wrote:Rome is awesome, I'm just saying it can be done in a single long day. 2 at most. Do a hop on hop off bus or whatever.
