HEY NEO - Melt bar & grilled

  • salto
One just opened in SWO but they started in NEO. Anyone ever been to a Melt bar & grilled before?

    Yes. It's amazing.

One is opening up someplace in Beavercreek. Read about one of their monthly features sandwiches - "A monthly featured sandwich late last year was the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon Melt, which consisted of Hickory smoked bacon, black pepper-crusted bacon, maple bourbon glazed smoked pork belly, Italian pancetta, herb cream cheese with bacon bits, house made bacon-infused mayonnaise, sharp cheddar, and romaine and sliced tomato."

    ^ Sounds pretty good!

Is this a direct competitor to Tom & Chee?

    Meh....overrated, IMO.

When it was just Lakewood and Cleveland Heights I thought it was totally worth the hype. Now that they've grown to the point where most of the food is prepared in a central kitchen and shipped out to the locations the quality has suffered. Don't get me wrong still an amazing sandwich just no longer worth obnoxious wait times for IMO.

    Melt is delicious.

I've been to the locations in Short North and at Easton a handful of times.

I think I have had the Mighty Macaroni, The Dude Abides, Backyard BBQ, Chicken & Waffles, Parma Italy, the Mushroom Melt, and Peanut Butter & Banana. Haven't found one yet that I didn't like.

Don't know, but Lockview in Akron is also superior with this type of menu.

    Perogies are amazing.

Chicken and waffles!! I've only been there once, but I thought this particular sandwich was solid.

Melt has been around for a few more years than Tom and Chee and I know in NE Ohio the former is the clear favorite.

I have been to three of the locations many, many times. Lakewood is still the best, but I have never had a bad experience in Independence or Akron.

Never been to melt, but the one in Beavercreek is about 200 yards from my house, so looking forward to checking it out.
