Pit Bull kills in Dayton
-
isadoreThe pit bull that mauled a Dayton man to death on Tuesday morning resided at a home that has been the source of a previous animal complaints and at least one dog bite.
Dayton police responded to an alley near 345 Middle St. in northwest Dayton after receiving a frantic 911 call about a man yelling for help as he was being attacked by a dog.

Police arrived at the scene to discover the dog still attacking the 60-year-old victim, Maurice Brown. An officer shot and killed the pit bull, but Brown was pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital.
Detectives said they are trying to identify the people who owned and cared for the dog, what may have transpired and if criminal charges are warranted.

saltoRunners should wear small belt clip knives just for the reason spock described. Lots of white trash people allow their shitty dogs to run free.
Taking one of the two lungs out should do enough to allow you to escape and the animal to survive, if immediately taken to a vet.

Too bad your runners train in areas that do allow them.Spock;1851947 wrote:had one of my runners attacked by a pitbull yesterday while running. He got lucky and only had bite wounds on his legs -

isadoreA 3-week-old was killed after one of her family’s three pit bulls attacked the baby girl while she was unattended with the dogs, according to reports.
Susannah Jean Murray was left alone in a bouncy for five minutes inside of her Michigan home when one of the dogs attacked her, according to authorities.

When an adult returned to check on the girl, she’d suffered severe injuries, including a bite to her head, which authorities said is what killed her.
One of the family’s pit bulls was then found with blood on its mouth, reports said.
Susannah was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery but she died hours later, according to reports.
Residents who lived in the Grand Rapids neighborhood told the Detroit Free Press that the dogs were a dangerous nuisance, calling them “mean and vicious.”
“I’d be scared, because when the dogs get out the fence, they used to chase us,” Hawa Abdi told the paper.
Police took all three dogs to be quarantined at the local animal shelter after the attack.

ZunardoThe other day the wife and I are doing yardwork, and out of the corner of my eye I see a large dog walk up our driveway, and go around the other side of the garage. I go around, and it's a huge pit bull, probably mixed with some boxer or mastiff, just standing there like he had lived with us for years. I just said, "Time to go home, boy", and he went back out to the front and down the street.
Wasn't a bad-looking dog were it not for those pit features. He had a collar and tag, and obviously had no qualms about leaving his owner's property. Our neighborhood FB page was active all day tracking his movements. I thought they said he belonged to someone in our housing area, but someone finally took him into their yard to feed him, and they called the Humane Society or other group. He was still unclaimed by next morning.
A nice summer day, and kids outside playing who may or may not know how to act around such a loose dog. Maybe he likes kids, but I'd err on the side of caution. Just glad mine are grown and out of the house. I love dogs, but like I've said previously, I have too much experience processing injury comp claims involving dog attacks, all of which just happened to involve pit bulls or pit bull mixes. -

A pit bull burst through a backyard fence, made its way into a nearby minivan and mauled two young children as they sat helplessly strapped into their car seats, police said.
The mother of the 2-year-old girl and the 5-year-old boy managed to pry the animal off them Monday but not before it seriously mangled her son's face, witnesses said.
Tom Grab told WPMT-TV that he was able to pull the 66-pound dog off the boy, but it wriggled free and continued the bloody assault.
Several other people in the area also helped the mother, who drove to a nearby hospital after the dog was removed from the vehicle. She was treated for scratches, but her children are being treated for serious injuries.
