Just wait a day or two. The next "OMG WTF" story will get plastered everywhere to distract us from more pertinent issues and worries. You know, because who cares about us bombing Syria or North Korea testing out their missiles and shit like that. We have Pepsi/Kendall Jenner and United/Sex Doctor to yell about!!!

I would be surprised if it's over 2 days.

It seems like whenever people go viral in their favor it comes back to haunt them these days.
I was gradually coming around to he shouldn't get squat. Just fucking get off the plane. You're going to get off the plane, believe me, and all you're doing is making everyone else wait.

People shouldn't get rewarded for stupid, reckless and illegal behavior just because they get a bump on their head doing it.

Yet, somehow, he was allowed to practice medicine again....one day a week at an outpatient facility.

Which now makes sense why he was so desperate to get back to see his patients the next day!

Not that the past of this guy matters AT ALL on this situation...the doctor from the plane is NOT the doctor that was/is a felon.

    Nice job TMZ.

LOL, TMZ is normally on the mark. How did they fuck that one up? I take back the comments on the guy being a POS, until another story comes out.

I haven't seen the exact details, but there are apparently 2 doctors with the same first and last name. They didn't check the name, I guess.

He did win in the World Series of Poker though, right?

Yes, I believe that is the right doctor. From everything that I have read.

Nope. The poker Dao is also the felon so he wasn't the one that was beaten.

Felon/Poker Player is Dr. David Anh Duy Dao and the guy that was beaten/dragged off the plane is Dr. David Thanh Duc Dao.

This dude is going to get a few nice pay days.

I thought that was the felon but who knows they have the same first and last name. The WSOP.com says its the David Dao from Elizabethtown and I thought that is where the felon Dr. Dao lived.

Only thing I've seen is Felon Doctor is David Anh Duy Dao and the man who was dragged and beaten on the plane is David Thanh Duc Dao.

If it's all fake, the guy has even more leverage. Slander case against TMZ?

    Worth a read. https://thepilotwifelife.wordpress.com/2017/04/11/i-know-youre-mad-at-united-but-thoughts-from-a-pilot-wife-about-flight-3411

Pretty much dovetails with what I said earlier. This isn't an uncommon occurrence...the only difference here is that the Crazy Closeted Chinaman elected to melt down and be belligerent about it. He essentially was at fault, and why if he's dumb enough to actually go to court with this, he'll receive a 2nd asskicking.

Boarding the plane and then being removed is very uncommon. Also, not explaining why they are getting kicked off is stupid as well. Don't tell them it's random, explain how the computers choose who they choose. Let's pretend we are all experts at reading the Carriage forms and what would actually hold up in court. I doubt it ever gets to court, probably a settlement to make it go away.

Yeah I think this is right. The felon is the poker guy. And the airline guy is just a doctor.

I don't really see how that's going to make a difference. Oh, it's random, well then I feel much better now. No, you're still just as pissed off.

I told my co-worker this, and he asked for a link. And I don't see one lol

    Is that true or not?

It was all over Twitter. But it appears that it might have been wrong. And that the guy on the plane was in fact the felon.

Regardless, his past has zero impact on this incident.

I'm not so sure. His lawsuit would be a civil trial - he can't refuse to testify or be deposed, and character would certainly play into the defense about why 3 other passengers peacefully followed the request without incident but he did not.

I expect this will probably be settled and we won't hear any more details than that. But I'm really curious to what a jury would decide, and how much they would award, when the guy's injuries resulted from his forceful resistance against removal. I'm actually not sure if excessive force was used, but rather the question is if it was premature - they were called to remove him, and so I don't expect them to enter a lengthy negotiation but nor should they just walk up and instantly put hands on him.

I don't think United is responsible for his injuries. So how much do the taxpayers on that jury want to hit the Chicago Aviation Administration with?

    Another video is out.
    http://people.com/human-interest/footage-united-airlines-passenger-police-arguing-before-dragged-off-plane/

The clip, taken by fellow passenger Joya Griffin Cummings, shows a passenger, who has been identified as Dr. David Dao, speaking to security personnel who are telling him to deplane after the airline overbooked the flight.

    “I won’t go, I’m a physician I have to work tomorrow, 8 o’clock…” Dao says.
When the officer asks him again, he threatens to “make a lawsuit” against United Airlines.

“No I am not going, I am not going!” says Dao.

The officer responds: “Well, we’ll have to drag you.”

“Well, you can drag me. I won’t go. I’m not going,” says Dao, who seems to be simultaneously talking to someone on the phone.

“They’re trying to use force,” he tells the person on the other end of the call.

The 69-year-old doctor then says he flew from Los Angeles and would “rather go to jail” than be forced to depart the plane.

“You’d rather go to jail than just get off?” questions the officer.
