ironman02I'd suggest Cap City Diner on Olentangy River Rd. One of my favorite places.
I've probably been there about 10 times and it has been delicious every time. Romano crusted chicken is probably my favorite. It's a Cameron Mitchell restaurant so just a little pricey, but not too steep. -

Great selection, although IIRC they used to be closed on Sunday.superman;1845242 wrote:The Elevator is decent lunch spot. Beer and burgers. -
Pick6I've been meaning to get down there and try Hot Chicken Takeover. I've been trying to get a hot chicken fix ever since I got back from Nashville last year. As much as Cleveland's food scene is talked up, I haven't found anything that compares yet.

HCT is awesome! Noodlecat in CLE has hot chicken that's pretty damn good. Just not a place where you'd think to get hot chicken.Pick6;1845274 wrote:I've been meaning to get down there and try Hot Chicken Takeover. ohiobucks1HCT is great. I like Spaghetti Warehouse too tbh.
My list would be:
1) Cafe Istanbul (their lunch special is legit)
2) HCT/North Market
3) Cooper's Hawk (great food and wines)
4) Cap City
5) Mitchell's
6) Blocks Bagels (if you wan a deli)
7) Forno
8) Mad Greek
9) Sushi Ting
10) Blue Ginger
11) Refectory
12) El Vaquero
Any of those are great for lunch -

Thanks for the reference. I walk by Noodlecat all the time but its the last place I'd expect to find hot chicken (as you pointed out). I'll have to check it out.power i;1845963 wrote:HCT is awesome! ZunardoBrew Brothers at the Scioto Downs/El Dorado racino on US 23 south of I-270. Get the "burnt tips" appetizer, you won't regret it. Great menu selections.
You are not alone.Ironman92;1845233 wrote:If nothing fancy...I like the Spaghetti Warehouse, but probably alone on this site -

4cards...are there any good places for lunch up in the Powell area? I will be there next Thursday and need a place to eat.

Try Local Roots, Liberty Tavern or Gallo's....both about in the center of old Powell (Powell Road and Liberty) and very good.4cards;1846119 wrote:...are there any good places for lunch up in the Powell area? I will be there next Thursday and need a place to eat. -

Yes to all 3. Local Roots is great, on the expensive side, but great.wkfan;1846122 wrote:Try Local Roots, Liberty Tavern or Gallo's....both about in the center of old Powell (Powell Road and Liberty) and very good. -

Midstate01Any of you been to hauferbraus in Grandview? Bunch of us went a couple Saturdays ago and it was awesome. Food was good, but it was the beer and atmosphere that did it for me. Had an absolute blast there and the women in there that night.. hot damn.

Fab4RunnerAlso been to the Cleveland locale. Always a good time. It's perfect if you're seeing a show at Playhouse Square.

4cards...I agree with ohiobucks1, I've gone to Schmidt's and thought the food was very good and better than any other German restaurants that I've been to.
