Strong Language Censorship on tv

  • Ironman92
When watching movies on cable networks they seem to change the words of the script every time "fuck" comes up which I can live with (except during Die Hard flicks and 40 year virgin)...but it seems to be getting worse. They don't say "ass, damn, shit" and it changes so many lines throughout the movie. These are PG 13 type movies.

But on the same station they'll play 2 Broke Girls every early evening and literally every other line in that show has strong sexual innuendo.

I'm sure there are strict guidelines but I'd rather young kids be "exposed" to Happy Gilmore, Tommy Boy or even Yippee Cay Yay Mother Fucker than some of the shows these same cable networks put out there every day.

Why the fuck do you watch 2 Broke Girls?

I've never understood why cable movies have to be censored. I should have the option to see the unedited version.

We eat dinner at 6:00 and like all classy people eat in the living room....used to watch Sportscenter but cannot watch it anymore because Michael and Jamelle.....there ain't shit on. I refuse to watch the news, wife thinks 2 Broke Girls is funny (I do too about 1 line an episode)...it's on. 2 1/2 men and modern family not in that time slot anymore.

That's the thing...rarely are the cable movies new to anyone. Everyone knows whether or not Bruce Almighty is appropriate or not.

I'd rather get divorced than consistently watch 2 Broke Girls.

2 Broke Girls: Wife and I watch from time to time. Can get pretty raunchy with the innuendos.

I am a big fan of Shawshank Redemption and when I was teaching at the senior high school level, students wanted to watch it. I say ok and a kid says he had the cd to bring in. Cool.

It turns out that I had only watched Shawshank on tv with editing I didn't know about. In class, I learned very quickly that I had never seen nor heard the original movie version. Wow!

Yes it sucks...I think we can all agree. Nice boobs and legs at least.

As for the original question ...

It's Always Sunny uses "shit" frequently and Sweet Dee got an F bomb off two weeks ago.

I also don't understand when blatantly inappropriate movies are on prime time basic cable. Neighbors is on NBC tonight. What's the point?

Or that they even try to air some shit. A few years ago, SyFy had Scary Movie 2. It's roughly a 90 minute movie and had to be cut so much to air on TV that it fit into a 90-minute block. Considering the amount of commercials they tend to have, they would have had to cut at least 30-40 minutes to fit in that time period.

"Get these monkey flying snakes off my Monday to Friday plane!"

By far my favorite TV edit ever.

Hahaha. That's a great one for sure.

Never had the privilege of catching Snakes on a Plane on TV yet.
