My brother and SIL had an amazing house in Madisonville until December. I was very bummed when they sold it.justincredible;1852448 wrote:As of last night I'm officially a Madisonville resident. -

My wife grew up in West Chester and my in-law's still live there.fish82;1852449 wrote:Live and work in The WC. I actually lived in Madisonville when I first moved to town in 1989. -

justincredibleNice, we looked heavily at a house on Stewart a few months back. It was right across the street from the rec center.

I haven't bought a house yet, waiting on selling ours in Kansas.justincredible;1852447 wrote:What parts of town do you other Cincinnati-area folks live? Terry, we're you on the west side at one point, or am I misremembering?
Wife got a job in Independence (teacher) and my office(s) are based primarily in Covington and Florence. We are completely open on where to live and have a few months on choosing that place. In the temporary, we have a 3-bedroom apartment we'll be living in in Florence for 2-3 months. Hopefully by August we'll have an idea of place to live and our house sold in Kansas. -

I lived in the shitty Lindsey Lane Apartments up the street off Duck Creek.justincredible;1852462 wrote:Nice, we looked heavily at a house on Stewart a few months back. It was right across the street from the rec center. -
justincredibleI imagine Madisonville was pretty rough back then.

Haha, will do. Haven't been there in quite awhile. That is a buddy of mines favorite restaurant.superman;1852369 wrote:If you ever want to eat lunch at Nuckin Futs hit me up.
Still on the west side. In between Delhi and Western Hills. Girlfriend lives in Williamstown, KY though so I have a feeling I'll end up south of the Ohio River in the not so distant future. Hoping to compromise and buy a house in Ft. Mitchell but we'll see.justincredible;1852447 wrote:What parts of town do you other Cincinnati-area folks live? Nice. Is she teaching at Simon Kenton? I really like the Ft. Mitchell area as mentioned above. Easy to hit the highway to go downtown, as well as both Florence and Covington. She could be at SK(or just Independence in general) in 15-20 minutes. Should be in Beechwood school district which is a great school. I think that's a pretty safe area to be in from a property value standpoint as well.OSH;1852513 wrote:I haven't bought a house yet, waiting on selling ours in Kansas.

These are all points I'm trying to throw out to the GF obviously. -

Hopefully you see this as a stupid question but ever eat at Roneys? Their roast beef sandwich is the GOAT.superman;1852539 wrote:I live in Eastgate.

Asking me about restaurants is never stupid bro. I have eaten Roney's. I only tried the chicken though.Terry_Tate;1852646 wrote:Hopefully you see this as a stupid question but ever eat at Roneys? Their roast beef sandwich is the GOAT. -

It wasn't Hell's Kitchen or anything, but it had some interesting moments in hindsight.justincredible;1852528 wrote:I imagine Madisonville was pretty rough back then. -

I did some commuting from Williamstown for about 4 weeks, not a terrible drive, but not one I prefer.Terry_Tate;1852644 wrote:Nice. Is she teaching at Simon Kenton? I really like the Ft. Wife will be teaching at Summit View. We've looked a bit at Elsmere and Erlanger for the ease of travel to Independence and Cincinnati. They both escape the major traffic issues that may occur. I'm not a huge "city" guy or "suburb" guy, and my wife also prefers a slower pace and even fewer neighbors. If we can do that, great. If not, oh well. Have considered Walton or Verona areas if the right spot opened up. -
slingshot4everMy wife and I just closed on our new construction in Perrysburg yesterday....excited to be moving in

One of my co-workers lives in that area. Believe he's on a street off Stevenson and he really likes it.OSH;1852673 wrote:I did some commuting from Williamstown for about 4 weeks, not a terrible drive, but not one I prefer.

Their chicken is really good, but the roast beef is amazing. Dip it in a little BBQ sauce as you're eating it. You're welcome.superman;1852650 wrote:Asking me about restaurants is never stupid bro. I have eaten Roney's. I only tried the chicken though. -
OSHWelp, finally under contract with the sale of our house in Kansas! Took 5ish months, but it happened.
Now, hard search for a place in NKY -- looking between Walton (maybe) and Covington. I work out of Florence and wife in Independence, so we are pretty flexible. Trying not to go too far away from Cincinnati since we'll both be there regularly. I'm not much of a city person, so trying to get out of having a neighbor so close we can hear them snore. -
justincredibleCongrats man! Hopefully you find something quickly.

Congrats. Remind me, is school district an issue for you?OSH;1867115 wrote:Welp, finally under contract with the sale of our house in Kansas! Took 5ish months, but it happened.

School district is somewhat of an issue, but not much. My wife is a teacher, so our kids can open enroll in her district (Kenton County).
