    ditto...every day for years

That sucks to hear. I've always like Mike and Mike and I'm probably in the minority but I've always liked Greeny better. Will be really interesting to see what happens with the show now.

Addition by subtraction. Haven't listened to them in years but always thought he sucked.

Watch a bit pretty much each morning. They both bring different things to the table.

Each one misses a decent amount of time. When Greeny misses the show goes on pretty much just as good. When Golic misses the show just isnt nearly as interesting so if one had to leave I am glad it would be Greenberg.

Meh. National sports radio is not for me.

    Surprised by this.

Eh the show is nothing like it used to be, back in the day when it was on ESPNews it had the same flavor Dan Patrick Show has today. IMO Mike & Mike became way too commercialized and mainstream, something Dan Patrick has done a great job of avoiding

    Agreed. Absolute junk.

I have listened to the show for years. Never really was a Greenberg fan, but I liked the ying and yang of him and Golic.

Pretty much the only good show on ESPN radio. The rest of them are absolute shit.

Greeny will do very well at his new role at ESPN. He is a very solid personality.

I love Mike and Mike in HS (2001-05), but not a huge fan of ESPN radio because of all the restrictions and topics being generated via the contracts they have.

Mike and Mike has been on forever. A 15 year run in sports media is pretty darn good. Golic sr probably will work part time and jr will get a gig, I'm assuming.

If you hear 1 hour of Mike and Mike, you've heard all 4. Only thing I used to listen to was SVP and Russillo. It's gone downhill once SVP left though.

A local station in Lima had MM for a long time and then ran other programming afterwards. They switched to the Dan Patrick show awhile ago because ESPN told that station they had to carry all the programming or nothing so they just couldnt hand pick the MM show and then some other network.

Now they have a local show in the AM which I am not a fan of, but the DP show is pretty good.

I don't know about this--guys like Greeny are a dime a dozen--vanilla and cookie cutter...Golic on the other hand has the unique combination of humor and smarts, both book and street...he's a guy's guy, whereas Greenberg has too many feminine qualities. This works when paired with a guy like Golic, but not sure how it'll play out solo--unless he's doing an Oprah/Ellen type of show.

I used to like the show back in the day, but they became caricatures of themselves and were too Disney. It's not a huge loss for radio.

    Couple of shills.

Pretty much, although for their salaries I'd sign up to be a shill.

listening to Greenberg with Adnan Virk this morning, and all I could think of is "when the hell is he leaving"...to be honest, I'll listen to the show more when he's gone

Has he mentioned it at all on air? I think Adnan (i always thought they were saying Ad-man as a nickname) referenced it to a point (salary maybe) and greeny said he was intentionally ignoring it.
