People have had "wrong" thoughts for all of humanity. Are you really surprised there are people out there that support "wrong" things like rape? Why does that offend you? People are stupid and think awful things. That isn't some revelation. You just have to ignore those idiots and move on. You can't "stop" them from being ignorant.Fab4Runner;1833079 wrote:Defriending them won't change the fact that people think his comments and actions are okay. If everyone just ignores it and pretends it doesn't exist, nothing will change. I am not a SJW, but when something is wrong, it's wrong. Blocking it doesn't help. That doesn't mean I took it upon myself to try to make them see it's not okay. I prefer not to talk politics on Facebook, and that remains true.
Also, my posts have nothing to do with Hillary. I didn't vote for her, and I know there are myriad reasons she lost. -

No, I am not surprised. That doesn't mean I do not want it to change. As a woman who has been grabbed by the ***** and groped who knows how many times, I think it sucks that people I know believe sexual assault and jokes about said assault are okay. Like I said, I am not making it my personal mission to change their minds. I am not out there crusading for everyone to feel the same way I feel about it. Still, that doesn't make it less shitty.SportsAndLady;1833081 wrote:People have had "wrong" thoughts for all of humanity. Agreed x100. Dated an elementary one for awhile and hearing work stories just made me laugh. Haha I'll never forget hearing thank god summer is coming because this year is getting to me, wish I could tell work on Memorial Day that I'll see them sometime around Labor Dayernest_t_bass;1832699 wrote:Teachers are the worst. I have seriously asked every woman close to me (mom, sister, wife, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, etc) after Trump's comments this serious question.
How many of them had really had a man walk up and just "grab them by the...." by some random dude and the grand total among the 4 or 5 women I asked was zero times.
One of them had been date raped (already knew that story) but none of them had some guy that they were not in some relationship with touch them that way. All had their butt slapped which was as far as they had experienced an inappropriate touch by someone that they were not in a relationship with.
3 of the 5 had a boyfriend touch them before they were ready for that and had to stop them (probably not assault as long as the BF stopped when told).
My question is how common is it really for some non-boyfriend to really just "grab by the...".
I mean I have been to dance clubs where dancing gets hot and heavy and have not personally seen that type of behavior. I just am curious how often random dudes grabbing random women down there really is. -

I had a guy come up to me from behind, reach into my shorts and grab my vagina. He then tried to rip my underwear off my body.jmog;1833089 wrote:Honest question, not trying to bring up anything terrible in your past or whatever.

A guy tried to rip my shirt and bra off when I was 18 years old. When he didn't succeed, he just settled for grabbing me over my clothes.
Both of these were in very public places with hundreds of people around. It happens. -

Sorry that happened to you, kind of wish I was there so I could kick the crap out of them.Fab4Runner;1833091 wrote:I had a guy come up to me from behind, reach into my shorts and grab my vagina. He then tried to rip my underwear off my body.

Strangers. It was gross and it was shitty, but I wasn't traumatized, scarred, etc. Truthfully, it didn't even surprise me and that is exactly why I feel the way I feel.jmog;1833092 wrote:Sorry that happened to you, kind of wish I was there so I could kick the crap out of them.

Those are the sorts of people who would be okay with his comments, certainly. They're evidence of a group of people who do, in fact, think it's okay to treat a woman like a soul-less object.Fab4Runner;1833091 wrote:I had a guy come up to me from behind, reach into my shorts and grab my vagina. It's also worth pointing out that they already exist. I certainly won't presume to know that incidents like this will increase or decrease, and I don't think the POTUS actually has much influence in the dominant consciousness of the culture.
What he said was juvenile and stems from a seeming superiority complex (surprise!), though when it comes to him, I'm not even sure it's misogyny. It might just be straight-up megalomania which manifests itself on both sexes based on his preferences (ie, if he liked men, he'd probably joke about grabbing dicks). Everything he does in public seems to exude an inflated sense of self that I'm not even sure I can find a modern comparison to. With such an inflated sense of self, I think he might just desire to shit on everybody, regardless of gender, and that the means just depends on his own wants.
That's insanely terrible. What horrible human beings. I can't help but hear stories like that and hope awful things for them (even though that's also probably awful).Fab4Runner;1833098 wrote:Strangers. HereticToday's been an entertaining day on social media. Between the whining on one side and the superiority complex by people on the other side who were whining the last eight years, it's like some sort of competition to see who can more insufferable.

Seriously. I thought perhaps one side would stop, but now they're just gloating. And now my lefty friends are crying too...Heretic;1833500 wrote:Today's been an entertaining day on social media. O-TrapAssumed this was a mistake, so I asked him privately.
The man actually holds the religious belief that men can consider their wives property.
WTF

Does telling her to make me a sammich make her property? If so I am all in!O-Trap;1834964 wrote:Assumed this was a mistake, so I asked him privately.

Trueblue23I have a white-trash 28 year old friend who's white trash (three time divorced with three kids) late 30 something gf constantly posts sexual shit to his FB. I laugh and cringe at the same time. Gross stuff like "find a man who will break your head board not your heart".

Ha my ex's brother had a girlfriend like that and you described the reaction perfectly. Those women are your late 20s-40 year old sluts who basically just date to fuckTrueblue23;1835143 wrote:I have a white-trash 28 year old friend who's white trash (three time divorced with three kids) late 30 something gf constantly posts sexual shit to his FB. O-TrapUgh, I know a guy whose wife/girlfriend/fiance (seems to change every few months) does that. And she's an absolute trainwreck.
-
O-TrapRan across this gem today.
It actually bums me out, because she's a smart young woman who could achieve a lot for herself if she wanted to.

FatHobbitShe traded her food stamps for cash so she could go party instead of using them for food. I assume she will now not have anything to eat after the weekend.
