Christmas Lists

My wife was similar a couple years ago. I suggest going to a range, letting her firing some rounds. I ended up getting my wife and I CCW classes and I gave her an IOU for a handgun of her choice and let her go try a few out at the range, then picked out her favorite. She ended up getting a .3804cards;1825948 wrote:...My wife has seriously talked about getting her concealed carry permit, so for Christmas I might get her a gun. sig P238 .380 very nice weapon for a women. most we an can pull the rail back, trigger pull is good, size perfect for smaller hands and easy to conceal in most hand bagsBenny The Jet;1825988 wrote:My wife was similar a couple years ago. I'd get her a gift certificate and then do what Benny suggested.....take her to the range a few times and have her try out some different guns and calibers.4cards;1825948 wrote:...My wife has seriously talked about getting her concealed carry permit, so for Christmas I might get her a gun. Belly suggested a sig 238, .380, and that a good choice. His suggestion to make sure she can rack the slide easily is critical. Another option is a small frame revolver for ease of use. But I think the important thing is for her to shoot several different guns to see what she likes and is comfortable with. Most ranges have guns you can rent to try out. There a hidden bonus too....you get to try them too! -
Belly35The wife and I bought new stove, refrigerator and microwave yesterday as out gift to each other her idea....I'm still suggesting a new holster and ammo.

She has one for 2014 and 2015 as well. I have gotten a few things from her lists and they have gone over well. -
AutomatikI prefer cash or Amazon gift cards.
As always, I have no fucking clue what to get my parents. -

Parents are tough. Mine can buy whatever they want or need. This year I got my dad an OSU fleece from Homage, my mom some new kitchen gadgets and a 12 Cats of Christmas tea towel (she is a crazy cat lady) and my stepdad new marshmallow roasting sticks, lol. Sounds lame, but he likes to have a fire pretty much nightly during the summer and his are old and disgusting.Automatik;1827864 wrote:I prefer cash or Amazon gift cards.

I think I'll be getting my wife a carry pistol as well. She's talked about it for several years, but never ended up splashing cash to get one. She's liked a Bersa 380 for years. For her, she wants a gun she can run with, as well as carry when she wants to.4cards;1825948 wrote:...My wife has seriously talked about getting her concealed carry permit, so for Christmas I might get her a gun. Only thing I can suggest to you is, take her to a range and let her experience a few types of handguns to get comfortable with before deciding to get her a gun. It's extremely important for the carrier to have the confidence and ability to handle the gun when/if needed. -
j_crazyi asked for a yeti soft pack 30 with the square lid. i'm getting an RTIC 20 soft pack with the slit lid, such is life in my house (my wife is the worst gift buyer ever). i also asked for some LL bean sheepskin lined slippers, i feel i will be getting a lesser version of those that i won't like. I bought my wife a new MK purse, a new fit bit with a watch built in (her main complaint with the one she has is that it's not a watch too). My son is getting an electric go kart and nerf guns. My daughter is getting an iPod and american girl doll horse and house set. we also gave $500 worth of gifts to needy kids ($200 through church, $100 through my workplace giving, and $200 through a charity my wife works with) so all in all i feel pretty good with how my Christmas spending has went.

I am a big fan of glassware/barware for small gifts like that. I have gotten people etched lowball glasses, wine glasses, Yeti can koozies, etc. and it's always worked out well.Automatik;1828053 wrote:That's the plan. My team doesn't fuck around. Now, just have to let her use it and figure out what type of carry holster she may like. -

Have any idea on what type of holster you'll get for her? Or that she wants?
My wife will want one that's good for running/jogging. I imagine we'd also get another one that she feels comfortable carrying when we are out and about.
